The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean n modest but the price is excellent. Royal Lanna is at the night bazaar and near many eaterys. Its also an easy base to go sightseeing from. The breakfast is excellent and ever-changing and will definitely stay there again. Value plus Location...

Very Convenient location near to night street market. Staff friendly and helpful. The night market restaurants, and temples are nearby and easily reached on foot. If you want to walk all the way down to the riverside, it will take you about 10 minutes or more. There is a very nice Italian restaurant, Corleone Italian Pizzeria, just on the next street... More

The Royal Lanna Hotel is a 10-15 minute taxi ride from the airport at a cost of 120 Baht (2.50 GBP). It is a 22 storey hotel situated right next to the Night Market. It is an old hotel that the management have not bothered to update and modernise. The entrance is in a side alley that has McDonalds on... More

If you can appreciate an old timer car with it's limitations and want to stay in a Colonial hotel but can't afford the Raffles in Singapore, the Oriental in Bangkok or the Taj Mahal in Mumbai, this hotel may be something for you. If you prefer a digital world with bits and bites this is not the hotel for you.... More

Have stayed there several times now over past 10 years. Location next to night market is superb. Car parking (and car park staff) excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are getting a bit tired looking. No carpets, so tiled floors can be noisy esp from neigbouring rooms when moving chairs around. Beds are comfortable. Lights a bit dim View... More

I chose this hotel for its location - in the heart of Chiang Mai's famous "Night Market." I was not disappointed. I have stayed in Santitham, but it is not always easy to get a "baht bus" or tuk tuk there, and the old city is a little too much of "backpack city" for my taste. The staff were very... More

Old depressing, did not want to go back to the room. No safe in the room, although it said on their web site. I've complaint to the reception but they did't care at all. The lock for the room is only push button type so it's very unsafe as there are no safe. Hole in the linen, worn out towels,... More

Firstly the location, right in the center of Chiang Mai, just minutes from the night bazaar, couldn't be better if you are after the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city. For me however, the location yielded a hotel full of faceless foreign tourists as impersonal as a telephone directory. I don't think I have ever visited such a dispassionate... More
