This is a new little boutique hotel hidden away in a little Soi off ThaePae Rd.it is close to the night markets and Thaepae Gate and within easy and cheap access of all attractions. The hotel itself is done up in a colonial/moroccan fusion style and is spotless. We had booked the superior but were upgraded to the deluxe. Our... More

We stayed here back in February and enjoyed the hotel and Chiang Mai in general. The hotel rooms are large and spacious. A four poster style bed and some lounge chairs, bar fridge, room safe, reasonable size bathroom, bathtub, TV etcetera. The hotel is quiet as is the road outside. There is a pool of sorts at the hotel, but... More

The travel party consisted of 5 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 3. We booked 3 rooms. They were spacious and clean. "4-posted" bed added to the 'royal' feel. We read about the mozzies in this hotel. We came prepared with repellent, especially with children. They didn't irritate us much. Buffett breakfast was held in a small restaurant at... More

This boutique hotel's room is like a resort spa room fit for honeymooners however Chiang Mai would not be my choice of destination for a honeymoon. Room is huge. Small bathtub and shower recess but great room. Great "4-posted" bed so you feel like some sort of royalty. Breakfast is of a small range although attention to detail given to... More

Stayed here in March 2012. Beautiful chic boutique hotel, great location - walking distance to Old City, great restaurants, and all attractions. Room was very clean, modern, and large. Breakfast was good but small so don't be shy to order a few pancakes :) Travelled with my brother but defiantely would come back with husband. More

I've stayed at De Chai in 2011's autumn and i had a great time. Coming from Bangkok, where i stayed at a similar stars hotel, i've have to say the difference was huge. The room was modern, friendly, very nice. The Minibar was affordable, for the first time i didnt feel ripped off. The tour agency from the lobby was... More

Pros: Near to Night Market and the main streets in town Pleasant staff Adequate small restaurant with breakfast included Large room with ‘canopy’ bed that was comfortable On quiet side street Free WiFi that worked well Cons: Open design with hallways just outside the room doors that mosquitoes could access Quiet side street was quite dark and a little scary... During our trip to Thailand my wife and I stayed at the De Chai The Colonial Hotel in Chiang Mai for 3 nights (2+1) in mid February. This was the first hotel we stayed in our trip and we booked this hotel due to the excellent reviews here in TA. We were not disappointed at all. The price of the... More

Design wise this is really a lovely hotel. Large rooms with a separate seating area makes for a nice relaxing feeling. The decor is a blend of blonde and rich warm brown woods with limestone tiles through out the bathroom. The floor to ceiling glass doors with rain shower makes for an inviting & stunning presentation. And for the bath enthusiast, there's... More

All emails were answered quickly. Greeted by friendly staff who helped us with our bags and showed us to the reception. We were welcomed warmly and invited to sit. Check in was smooth. Tourist map provided. Lobby is lovely but rooms are even better: spacious and warm, soft (!) bed with two pillows each and nice linens, safe, several drawers,... More
