Baan Thai Resort and Spa was an ideal place for us to go after bussy Bangkok and during Songkran (Thai newyear). However, the day after, we moved to a hotel closer to the city. I loved the rooms and the wood in the buildings. I also loved the pool and the garden. There is plenty of space. In the evening,... More

Location: in the middle of nowhere, in between the airport and the Old city. It is 20-30 min walk to the Chiang Mai Gate and all tuk-tuks charge not less than 100 baht to go anywhere (either to the Airport Plaza or to the Old City). Facilities: slow, very slow internet in my room; decent in the public places. A... More

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. usually I dont write reviews - but in this case - I must! it may suit for a tide budget travelers, if they dont mind the shower, (no pressure at all !!) the bed, (terrible mattresses) the lights - (too dark) - the fans (too noisy) , and the spotty sheets and rooms. I am sorry for... More

We had a pleasant stay and the staff was friendly. The hotel will need some work to be in better shape but the garden and the pool are very inviting in the hustle of Chiang Mai. The location is quiet and comfortable. The Saturday night market is only 15-20min walk away and so is the airport plaza. The 80 year... More

Dont make the mistake we made! We were booked at Ban Thai Village in Chiang Mai. When we got a taxi from the airport, the female taxi driver took us straight to this hotel, without questioning whether we were booked at the Ban Thai Resort and Spa or the Ban Thai Village. We had no idea there were two hotels... More

We booked this hotel purely on the cost - if we had gone on the reviews we would not have booked. We were nothing but pleased with our stay. The staff could not have been more helpful. Although it is a little way out the local bars/restaurant we went to were lovely. The room was basic and a little worn... More

Nice Thai style wooden buildings and nice garden area, however rooms interior very cheap.. Chinese Thai style.... shame. mould in bathroom, no bed side lamp, no bed head board.... breakfast poor. It's not really expensive, but for the price you would expect more. Rooms more like a 400 baht guest house...

We stayed at the hotel around one month. The housekeeping came and cleaned our room every 3 days. And they never swept the floor! They came and gave us 3 bottles of water and few tissue rolls. They never change the toilet rug. We found big cockroach in the toilet too! So disgusting and dirty!!! The breakfast was poor, plates... More

We have never slept with as many mosquitoes as we did at Baan Thai Resort in Chiang Mai. The shower was broken, and it took until late in the evening before they got the airconditioning to work. There were no glass windows in our room, and the curtains looked like they hadn't been washed for a decade. Breakfast was a... More

We didn't like the Resort at all. The house looks nice from the outside, but our room was not what we had expected. It was dirty, smelled horrible from the bathroom and it was very noisy (Thai disco or something like that in the neighbourhood). There wasn't an actual door between the room and the bathroom... no privacy! The bathroom... More
