But the service is different from what I'm used to in Thailand... Rooms look nice, but bed is very hard. Pillows are too big (neck pain) and entrance of hotel is difficult to find (shopping mall?) hotel promised to arrange taxi for me to the airport, but forgot.. I ended up entering a taxi with a 'fixed price' (double the... More

This was an amazing hotel in the heart of China town, excellent servie, excellent staff, extremely friendly, even made sure when we needed a cab and TukTuk that they waved one down for us, negotiated a fair price so we wouldnt get haggled by the cab drivers.... great breakfast spread, from cereals to veggies, thaifoods and freshly made omlette of... Had a fantastic 3 night stay in Shanghai Mansions. The situation is great, in the heart of Chinatown and a walk from some of the main sights in Bangkok. The staff were very welcoming, and despite us arriving very early to check in, they worked hard to check us in as soon as possible. Reception and door staff always very... More

Very different staying in Chinatown and what an experience. The Shanghai Mansion is gorgeous and in a great position. We stayed for 3 nights in a "Mu Dan Suite" it was great. We stepped out onto the street and were immediately amongst the hustle & bustle of Chinatown. We booked this hotel based on other Trippers reviews and we were... More

There is no better way to immerse yourself straight into Bangkok life than staying slap bang in the middle of Chinatown, and this Hotel is perfect. We can't fault the Hotel in any areas. I can only repeat what other reviews have expressed in wonderful this hotel is, from location to rooms and decor to the excellent service from the... More

Have just returned from Bangkok and stayed at the fabulous Shanghai Mansion Hotel located in the the center of Chinatown. The service in this hotel is truly 5 stars. Every guest is treated as a member of their family and nothing is ever too much trouble. The decor is traditional 1930s Shanghai and the rooms are well appointed and full... More

Really loved this hotel...you'd not believe the inside from looking at it from the outside! Its always chaotic outside in Chinatown...really buzz about the place night and day! But go into the Shanghai Mansion and you could be somewhere completely different..really is calm and stunning inside..great staff...hotel really clean and the surroundings spectacular! The room we had, a Mu Dan,... More

I stayed here last month for 3 days before heading to Nthn Thailand & Laos. With the flight from Australia not arriving until after 10.30pm it meant we didn't get to the hotel until around midnight but from the moment we arrived everything was all we could ask for. If your preference is for the standard/generic 5 star hotel that... More

Stayed for two nights at the Shanghai Mansions before heading down to Grand Centara Resort Hua HIn. We decided to stay there due to the excellent reviews on trip advisor. Staff were friendly, hotel was beautiful, rooms were quirky, individual but very small, no windows, good size bathroom/toilet. Could only get into bed from one side as the other side... More

We loved the Shanghai Mansion. We recently stayed there for the first three days of our honeymoon and we were very impressed. Our room was luxurious and we felt spoiled. The hotel is beautiful, especially the water garden and the room interiors. The hotel is also in a great location. China Town is very walkable and the hotel was walking... More
