I originally booked this hotel just for 3 nights whilst I decided where to go for the 2nd leg of my visit. In the event I stayed 7 nights and returned to the UK early. I have stayed here often and find the rooms functional, a restaurant that serves good food, a lobby bar that is a cool and pleasant... More

I only have a few words to sy about this place, total scam of a hotel, I accidentally broke a glass and was charged, well attempted to be charged, they wanted THB500 ( €13) for a drinking glass in the room, I also bought my own drinks in the room, they presented me with my garbage that was left in... I have read mixed reviews of this hotel prior to booking it. I took a calculated risk and I was not disappointed. First of all you cannot beat the price of the rooms, for that it is really good value, if you are looking for a budget place, clean and well managed, then PJ Watergate is a gem. It has... More

I have stayed several times. The rooms are always clean and tidy but some are a 'tired'. Beds are comfortable, shower delivers hot water and the tv and fridge work fine. Rooms overlooking the courtyard side are best as the rooms at the back overlook ugly tenanments and curtains must be kept drawn. Some rooms have a few tiny moths... More

This hotel claims on all web sites that they have complimentary in room WIFI and they don't! I basically work from my lap-top and when I got here to check in I found out that it's false advertising and that they don't have in room wireless network, the front desk guy says oh its not our problem it's Agoda (the... I think for the price you can't beat PJ Watergate Hotel. Reception is very helpful. They do have a very good breakfast buffet - eggs, omelettes, Asian food, Veggies and fresh fruit. A short walk to all the shopping. A lot of small restaurants on the same street and 2 for 1 drinks at happy hour. The rooms are older,... More

Like most hotels in Southeast Asia, management allows guests to smoke in their rooms. Watergate has burns in the carpet and furniture. The smell of cigarettes in in the air-conditioners. Redeeming quality is the breakfast, which is very good. If you are on a budget then this is a good place to stay, about 2 stars qualiity. Drinks in the... More

We stayed here for the duration of our time in Bangkok, the first 4 days of a 3 week trip to Thailand. Straight off, it's fine. It doesn't really pretend to be plush and if you go there with the expectation it's anything other than a standard hotel you will be disappointed. It's a bit dark and dingy in the... More

Chain Hotels should bring economies of scale, marketing advantages and a competitive edge. Unfortunately sometimes they are characterised by unmotivated staff, captive business and customer unfocus. Unfortunatrely also, the PJ Watergate falls in the latter category. in the brochure it's a free-standing iconic glass, brass and brightly lit tower. In reality it's approached by a seedy side-alley, not a frontage... More
