Well run guest house; quite clean for Kathmandu standards ; definitely recommend for budget travellers. I had to change my dates and they had no problem refunding the extra days i paid for. Pretty safe as well.

The Tibet Guesthouse is well located in Thamel - the heart of Kathmandu. It has its own authentic atmosphere e.g. a very nice rooftop with colorful Tibetan prayer flags and a perfect Kathmandu-View. Tibet is a very nice place to stay we only had three night there as we were doing a lot of traveling but the staff were very helpful the hotel is also very clean as are the rooms we were looking out at the Hilton hote . just glad I was not paying their prices :-)

I have stayed here 5 times in the last ten years. The hotel is on a dead end street and is quiet. It is family run by Tibetans. And they are very friendly and helpful. The rooms I have stayed in have always been comfortable. It also seems to be very popular with trekking groups because they are always there.... More

Positives: cheap; excellent location; good staff (helpful in arranging everything); healthy food; outstanding courtyard for relaxing. Neutral: rooms are average quality; some street noise from some of the rooms. We were doing EBC and it was nice to be able to leave some stuff behind with the hotel staff so that we did not have to carry everything with us.... More
