Stayed here in April and May: first four nights while working in Kathmandu and then one night after coming back from elsewhere. And it really did feel great coming back each afternoon after spending hours interviewing people in the grit and grime of the city (buy a facemask). Rooms are spacious and clean with a balcony, the garden's quiet and... More

I stayed here two nights while on a g adventure tour in Nepal. the rooms were nice spacious but quite dark. The nepolise use a lot of wood. The bathroom was good apart from the shower not being hot the first day and also the shower curtain at the bottom was filthy! There is also not that much power in... More

Our family and friends have been staying at the Nirvana Garden since 2006. I also bring groups to Nepal and we all like the friendly atmosphere and lovely gardens. The staff, from porters and housekeepers to the desk staff are all helpful and always smiling. The location is good, near Thamel yet tucked away up a small lane way thus... More

I feel compelled to write a review of this excellent hotel in Kathmandu after the outstanding service that I have received there on a number of occasions over the last two years. The hotel is everything that you would expect from a good hotel anywhere in the world (clean, friendly, safe and accommodating), but more than this, the staff at... More

Dont normaly write reviews but this hotel and staff deserve it. We stayed in the Hotel before and after going Treking to Mera Peak. We had 3 guys and 2 women. We did mention on a couple of occasions that we would stay in the hotel again if we are lucky enought to return to Nepal. I dont as a... More

staff is very helpful and pays attention to details, the garden is worth hanging out in, during the evenings - as an alternative to going out in the bustling night-life of kathmandu's beautiful old town, not for travellers looking for latest trendy decor... but rather for nostalgics... More

We had booked into 2 deluxe rooms in the new wing as the hotel said they were better than the standard rooms, but we were somewhat disappointed. The carpet was grubby, bathrooms basic and needing updating, and a huge water stain on the ceiling didn't help the overall downbeat impression. But we were warm, as there were plenty blankets on... My family always stays at Nirvana Garden when we are in Kathmandu. The location and rooms are great, but it's the staff that makes the difference. BJ, for example, helped us go to Bodinath--he knew exactly how long it would take to go and return in the morning, exactly how much the taxi fare was, etc., and he helped us... More

This hotel is at the upper end of the hotels in Kathmandu and is plagued (not their fault) by regular power outages. Notwithstanding, the hotel did its best to make my stay as hassle-free as possible. My thanks to all the staff at the hotel - especially BJ! More

The hotel is right at the center of Thamel, but being at the end of a lateral alley is very quiet. It has a lovely garden, good sized rooms (that would require a bit updating to be excellent) and clean and spacious bathrooms. Staff are extremely polite and the restaurant serves good food at a good price. Nirvana Garden in... More
