April 2012, we stayed in this hotel. The first night we have had a room with no window on outside (the window was on an inside corridor and was a little bit noisy during the night. When used a second time this hotel at the end of our trip, and then, the room was better (except the electric plugs), but... More

I was unfortunate to stay in this hotel. My tour operator Glance Himalaya Tour apologized for the poor hotel he had arranged which he says was booked because all other hotels were full. (He had arranged decent accommodation in Chitwan & Pokhara) The deluxe room we were given was having an AC without a remote. Remote was given when we... More

A friendly hotel who did a good job with my trekkers group. The rooms are basic and there's a daily power cut schedule pasted on each floor due to the fuel shortage in the country. During the power cuts, the hotel runs on generator and has minimal power. Internet connection is via wireless prepaid cards which are available at the... More

Location is very good, staff is friendly and helpful. There is a small but very nice garden. Breakfast is good. Rooms are clean, but the furniture is a little bit old. Ask for discounts! You have to pay for the internet. More

I moved over here after a few days at aother wonderful hotel near 'The Monkey Temple'. The Marshyangdi sits on the edge of Thamel. My friends from the States had arrived and we were getting ready to go out for 3 weeks to the mountains. I enjoyed this location because it was easy to walk anywhere from here - Durbar... More

Part of a group tour, we would never choose this hotel again. Room tiny, dark and damp. Very noisy at night. Bed uncomfortable. Essentially.....stay away! More

Based on some of the recent reviews, we were concerned when our tour operator told us our original hotel choice was booked and that they had secured us a room at the Marshyangdi. We expressed our concerns at check-in and checked out the room first - the room was very pleasant, very clean, and very comfortable. The hotel is located... More

We (a group of 19) had booked 13 rooms at this hotel in May '11 for our trip in October '11. The booking was made through an agent who had confirmed that all rooms were alloted in the main wing of the hotel. However, on arrival in Nepal, we were informed that 5 of the rooms were in the "ANNEXE"... More

This is a little lengthy, but the gist of it says - Stay away from Hotel Marshyangdi to avoid travel grievances!!! Hotel Marshyangdi was for us, a 25 minute drive away from the airport and situated at the mouth of Thamel, a busy tourist street good for local crafts and trekking gear. It was planned that our group of 5... More

This hotel was the meeting point for our group for a tour of Nepal and India. It was quite nice and the staff were very good. We felt at quite at home from the start and it was a good spot to come back to after the chaos of Durbar Square and the roads leading there. A good alternative to... More
