I have just returned to Scotland from an eight day stay in The Hotel Gorillas, Kigali. It is a comfortable hotel, full of character with extremely helpful and welcoming staff from the front desk staff, waiters and waitresses, to the cleaners and manager. The food was well prepared and very tasty; I would recommend the local beef or goat stew... More

I spent a night here on my way to a conference in northern Rwanda. The last time I stayed here was seven years ago, and it seems about the same. The best part of the hotel is the restaurant area. The pleasant outside portion is a delightful place to check on email, etc., and the food is pretty good. The... More

I stayed here for ten days with thirty friends from around the world on a medical mission. Rooms are adequate, as described, and a real bargain. Great value. Restaurant is fantastic. Location is great for walking to dinner at some of Tripadvisor's favorites, including #1, Republica...10 minutes max thru very safe streets. Wifi is free, best in the restaurant tho... More

Hotel Gorillas has a lot of amenities that the western traveler needs. The rooms are small and most have a view of the street, but all rooms share a common garden view in the center, which is nice. The bathroom doesn't have all the frills, but it has all the necessities that will get you refreshed and back out exploring... More

Stayed here on tour so don't know value for money status. But pleasant stay. Room small but has everything you need. Restaurant ok though a little expensive. Good walking distance from city centre, including 2 nearby Indian restaurants.

Hotel Gorillas is a hotel with clean, good rooms, and nice views from the upper floors. I stayed there for three weeks while working in Kigali. The breakfast has excellent choices of fruit and fruit salads, your choice of omelette and dull white bread, thermo coffee (in a country producing excellent coffee beans). Staff in restaurant was extremely kind. However,... More

I stayed at this hotel three nights, and wish I had changed from it. The staff is nice, and the breakfast is fine. The rooms are threadbare. The lighting in the room is dreadful, with red lamp shades over the three energy saving light bulbs, which makes it feel like a bordello. Gives a whole new interest to your skype... More

The non-commercial location gives it a very residential decibel level. Rooms are simple and small...no problem,. Nice place for an overnight break. Liked the food. The best place are the few umbrellas for outdoor dining.

A group of 17 of us stayed here for about a week and we loved it. The breakfast every morning was amazing, they even offered to have coffee and toast for us on a day where we were leaving at 5am. The rooms were nice (extra plus we had hot water every day) and even though mine overlooked the street... More
