I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights for a business meeting. Firstly, on the positive side the staff are friendly, and generally responsive to requests with a good service ethic. The room I stayed in was clean, with comfortable bed, although the pillows were uneven and were not ideal for sleep. Secondly, on the negative side the hotel is... More

I booked this hotel based on some terrific reviews, and was really disappointed. Check in staff were very friendly, and the rooms have a nice view over Kigali. This is the only reason I rate a 2 instead of a 1. Room was in disrepair with peeling paint and lights that didn't work. Bathroom was a good size but the... More

The Mille collines is a lovely hotel, well located within walking distance of Kigali city centre. It has plenty of history, but is now a well appointed, comfortable, clean welcoming hotel. The poolside rooms have a wonderful view over the hills of the city, and are cooler, as they are sheltered from the afternoon sun. It is good for both... More

This hotel is very good in its own right, with clean, modern facilities, a friendly atmosphere. and a good location in the centre of the city. However the real reason for this being somewhere you must visit in Kigali is the hotel's history as 'Hotel Rwanda', which makes staying there a very thought-provoking experience. One more prosaic observation - food... More

We travelled to Rwanda a 18 months ago to work with a charity and I have only just started to give feedback so it may be a little dated but I dont imagine it has changed. Hotel Rwanda, as this is more commenly known, is the one 'Must Visit' hotel in Kigali. Although it is mainly full of suited corporate... More

Spent my first night on arrival in Rwanda in this hotel. Free airport transfer and a very pleasant reception. The food was excellent. This hotel featured in the movie Hotel Rwanda all about the genocide situation.

This one is safe, the food is bad, but the location is good. Their generator isn't ready for a sustained power outage. But, the staff are friendly and the location is good. The mattresses were mushy and uneven...

Hotel Des Mille Collines is centrally located in the capital of Rwanda, Kigali. The hotel shows a friendly ambiance, a bit old fashioned entrance. The premises and the hotel itself show very clean, and well maintained. The staff at the receptiondesk are very friendly, and treat you as a guest! The rooms are good, decent size, equipped with a flatscreen.... More

This one needs to be on everyone's list. The famous Hotel Rwanda, although there is no sign now of any part of the genocide in the hotel. Decent room, if a tad small. Nice touch was the welcome drink when we arrived after a long mini-bus ride from the gorillas.

We stayed at the Milles Collines for one night on arrival to Kigali, and then again after our Gorilla safari. The first night we arrived at 2am and departed at 11am, so it was quite expensive for a nights stay ($289). I am not sure what the other option would have been for staying in Kigali if we wanted a...
