This hotel has nice size rooms in a great location in the heart of Kigali. While I think I was the only one I ever saw using the pool it was pleasant to look at in the midst of the lovely gardens. The owner was helpful with information and amenities. The breakfast was great.

Good location - easy to walk to centre and restaurants. Clean rooms with mosquito nets. Best feature is the garden. Decent breakfast - with lovely staff. This is definitely one of the best small hotel experiences on the continent. It has already been described perfectly by most of the other reviews. I have been traveling extensively around the Africa for almost 20 years and wish there were more such simple, but homely places to stay in other cities on the continent.

I've stayed at Garni 12+ times in 2010-2012 and it's a very informal, homey feeling. Everything is expensive in Kigali, but it's hard to get such a nice place to stay, so near the centre. I agree with other reviewers that this hotel is pricey and that all hotels in Kigali is pricey. However, this is a real home away from home.
