I stayed in a few of their rooms in late 2011 and this is one of the better hostels I've visited. The single rooms are cozy and have a bathroom down the hall, the only downside is they are next to the courtyard and kitchen area and can be a bit noisy sometimes. The larger suites with the private bathrooms... More

This hostel was alright: nice room, hot showers, laundry service, big self catering kitchen. But the lady who was responsible for opening the gate was a not nice. Maybe she didn't like working there, maybe she had 2 rough days, I don't know. But it cost her very big efforts to open the gate for us. Apart from her, we... More

Hi Wim, Thank you for your review and I am very sorry that a member of my staff was not providing a "warm and inviting" environment for you. I will be using your review for staff training and hopefully impressing upon each and every member of staff that service with a smile is a winning combination. We hope that you... More

this is one of the great backpackers I stayed in during my southern africa trip! I cannot say anything about the dorms but the single rooms were just beautiful and real value for money. I also like the whole sustainable concept with conserving water, recycling etc. Not to forget the kitchen is great and breakfast is included and really good.... More

We stayed here at the start and finish of a three week safari across Namibia and Botswana and found it to have all the amenities we needed. We all had double or twin rooms which were clean and nicely decorated and had en-suites. The staff were efficient and very helpful and we felt the safety was high. We brought our... More

Being a Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia for the past two years I have used this backpackers on many occasions. It is the favorite of PCV's because it is close to our offices as well as a good mid-way point between the two shopping malls. Typically we stay in dorms and the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. I... More

Normally we don't stay in backpacker hostels (anymore), but the location was good and we got a good deal on the Honeymoon Ensuite, with a nice private roof terrace, and away from the pool/bar-area. The room was large and the bathroom reasonably clean. Friendly bar staff. Breakfast basic but all right. Compared to South Africa, the Namibians seem to have... More

I've traveled for a combined 12 months all over the world. This is the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. We stayed in standard double rooms though they have even nicer ones. Buffalo room was really nice, beautiful pine floors, high ceilings, spacious room, great shower, really clean. There's secure parking, it's right in the center of town though frankly... More

Chameleon is located right in the heart of Windhoek and is an affordable little oasis in the big city. It has a nice range of accomodations, we stayed in a room with a shower, and then shared as shower as well as we stayed at Chameleon en route to and returning from the coast. The pool was cold but enjoyable... More

This place is worth staying in if you are passing through Windhoek. In fact, we stayed for four days and just relaxed for a while as we waited for the day that our connecting bus left. There's a range of accommodation options here from private rooms in the guest house, to dorms in the backpackers and finally a small camping... More
