The check-in was handled extremely well, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable, and the bathroom was well equipped with quality amenities. The linens and towels were clean, fluffy and white, and the food service was outstanding.

Okoume Palace is a typical example of post colonialisme grand luxury hotels build to impress and boost but left to completely implode over the past decades after it's grand opening... The hotel has such a grand allure and precense that seeing it in this current delapitated state is very sad. The potential is as big as its size! Luckely new... More

Had to stay here for 1 night, thank God it was only the one night. Room had a musty odour, probably due to the used towels that had been left in the wardrobe, or maybe it was the food that had been left in the fridge. Staff in the main seemed surly and disinterested. This hotel does not have a... More

Stayed in this hotel overnight for my next flight. Visited this hotel in the late 80s and early 90s, but it has only gone backwards. Hence the record performing hotel; close to the worse hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel looks very rundown, windows open making it smell bad and humid. Staff are very friendly when you speak... Stayed here on business trips in November 2011. There was ongoing renovation in readiness for the African Cup of Nations so there was some construction noise & disruptions in power & water supply. Check in is typically tedious as you have to wait for rooms to be vacated before you can be checked in as occupancy is quite high due... More

I stayed a week in this Hotel, and it was a week too long for me! The Hotel is far out of town, and as the Taxis drivers do not know their own town very well, it is a struggle to get around. You can wait an hour for a taxi here, and then be taken on a grand tour... More

First of all, a night in a standard room in this hotel costs a fortune: around 150 euros (breakfast not included. And nothing can justify this price level: the hotel is ugly, pretty much everything breaks down every 5 minutes (TV, light, hot water...). Renovation works are ongoing by Chinese workers living in the backyard and working like slaves (says... More

Never renewed for many years. Looks like European hotels from 1970. Rooms large and comfortable but with very old furniture. Bathrooms dirty, showers and baths looks like temporary repaired with sylicone. Rooms on floor 1 are OK, other floors are out of standard. From business reasons, I am staying overnight frequently (monthly or 2 monthly). Restaurant is very good, bar... More

The fact is the hotel is well located, has reasonable service but definitely cannot pretend to be a 5* as it says and for a 190-250€ per night is not up to the standards ... except the price. The buffet gets really repetitive after a couple of days and is amazingly expensive if you compare to the other, nearly located... More

I had minimal contact with the staff but found them friendly and efficient. My room was on the first floor at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. Very clean. Problems: shower barely worked; pool of water in the wardrobe; very poor TV reception; no cable internet and wi-fi offered at USD 40 for 4 hours. Overall impression... More
