Sunshine Hotel's only drawback was the lack of a lift, which would be a problem for anyone with deficits of mobility. Our spacious room had a queen bed and a single. The desk clerk was especially helpful, readily exchanging $$ for nakfas at the official rate of 15:1. In Eritrea, amenities are not to be taken for granted, but at... More

Stayed here on a work related stay in 2005. Really nice staff, clean large rooms. Good atmosphere - especially in late afternoon, early evening when local people came for talks, meetings etc. When I had a question the people at the desk always were kind and eager to help.

I stayed here for ten days in July 2012 for a work trip. Sunshine Hotel was a very great option because it was located very close to the City Center and a big thanks to its very friendly staff. They welcomed me every morning with a big smile and made my stay very valuable. Rooms very nice and very cleaned... More

In a quiet area, yet walking distance to the main city area. I feel very sad that I never got to thank the staff making me feel so welcome and they were so friendly. But having stayed here for three weeks, I am defiantly going to be staying here the next time I head off to Eritrea.

PRO. The hotel is simple and clean in a quiet neighborhood close to the centre and a good restaurant (Blue Bird: dinner (local, Italian, pizza) about 250NKF, beer 14NKF). Its two nice bars, a restaurant and reception become crowded and lively with young locals in the evening 7-10PM. Friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Good water pressure and hot water. Free... Ample sized rooms with en-suite bathroom - clean and comfortable. Basic breakfast and good in hotel menu for snacks or meals - very nice coffee. Service is very good and staff are all friendly. Wi-Fi internet is free but a bit erratic which is I believe the norm for the country and not specific to this hotel. The hotel is... More

I don't understand the hotel slogan (article title), but the staff is extremely polite and for the most part we were 'actually' happy. The hotel became our home away from wherever after two three-week stays. The showers were lukewarm at best, but on the weekends we found that hot water came around 8:30 in the morning (too late as we... More

I stayed in the Hotel longer than expected and felt really comfortable. The Staff are helpful, and friendly. Delicious coffee. Nice garden not far away from the city centre. All facilities that you need.
