Travellers' Choice
Voted the best Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe for 23 years running, the world-famous Victoria Falls Safari Lodge offers easy access to the iconic Victoria Falls, coupled with a wildlife experience that is truly unrivalled. Now in its 25th year of welcoming guests, the Lodge is built on a plateau overlooking the Zambezi National Park with endless unspoilt views to the horizon, just four kilometers from the Falls. This is the only sunset facing hotel in Victoria Falls, and the newly-renovated rooms and balconies are built up above a central waterhole which attracts herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, zebra, as well as night-time predators, such as lion and leopard. Our warm and personable staff are our greatest pride. Past guests frequently comment on our team's sublime hospitality and seamless delivery. The main areas of the lodge, such as the MaKuwa-Kuwa restaurant and the homely Buffalo Bar, are rich in ambience and also overlook the central waterhole, where drinks and dinners are often shared with wildlife meandering down to the water each day to quench their thirst.

This hotel is beautifully situated, with fantastic views from all of the balconies, restaurant and bar overlooking the surrounding area and watering hole, where you have a chance to see animals (we saw impala and zebra). The staff are welcoming, friendly and treat you like royalty. We sadly could only stay for one night so I cannot comment on dinner, but the breakfast options were excellent. The hotel is perfectly situated for trips to the Victoria Falls. One tip - take sufficient USD in cash to settle your expenses or purchase items at the lovely gift shop - there was a problem with the network when I was checking out and some guests did not have cash easily accessible.

Staying at the lodge located at the edge of a national park was the most amazing part of my 2.5 week trip in Africa. During breakfast, we watched a family of 9 giraffes cross the savannah with binoculars over coffee. The daily 1pm vulture feeding programme which was absolutely magical. An evening where we watched a group of wild boars and piglets from our balcony. Then there was the glorious sunset as we enjoyed beers at the bar. One caveat of being close to nature is the abundance of mosquitoes. Beds are covered with mosquito nets but these pesky bugs will find a way to you if you're not careful enough. Do apply the provided insect repellent cream to exposed body parts before going to bed if you do not wish to be covered in bites in the morning. When we stayed in the lodge, only one restaurant was available for our breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's worth exploring the nearby restaurants for a different experience if you're in the lodge for a few days. Otherwise the hospitality team is also well trained and always happy to assist.

Dear Olivia Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience at our lodge. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the unique wildlife sightings and magical moments during your stay with us. Our team takes pride in providing exceptional service, and we are delighted to hear that they succeeded in doing so. We have taken note of your concern about the dinning options and I am happy to say The Boma restaurant is also open for lunches and of course the dinner and drum show. Yet its great to explore other options around town. Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable experience in the future.

We booked the suites but unfortunately we really never got to enjoy our anniversary as we had a snake in our suite which just changed everything for us. We never got to relax as we spent our time chasing the room change and trying to check up with the activities. Due to sleeping at ams on the day we saw the snake and the first manager we called didn’t really care as he just told us lie about moving us. Next day we come back from our activities only to find out he never told his colleagues but thank god for Gidson Ncube who sorted everything for us. But the never really got to enjoy our stay with the way we were excited before

Good day to you We are deeply sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience during your anniversary stay at our suites. The presence of a snake in your suite is certainly not the kind of memory we want our guests to take away from their special occasions. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and distress this incident caused you. Its rare to have such incidents even outside the rooms. Rest assured, we have taken immediate action to ensure that such incidents are handled promptly and efficiently in the future. We are grateful for the assistance provided by Gibson in resolving the situation for you. Your comfort and safety are our top priorities, and we are glad that Gibson was able to assist further. Wishing you all the best in this year after celebrating your anniversary.

Welcome to Victoria Falls. Be ready to get out the cheque book. Hotel is great but the town is expensive. $50 to visit the falls. Great resort. Food is good. Prices here for the food are good. Great bar. Lovely pool. Staff very helpful. Did a sunset cruise and was fine. You have a choice of standard or deluxe. Did the deluxe but would have done standard. We were taken to the airport. This is a great place to stay but Victoria Falls has much to offer but it is expensive.

A beautiful lodge with a fantastic view, a service-minded and friendly staff and delicious, tasty food. Thank you to everyone for making our stay a memorable experience – including the guide who was in charge of the vulture feeding.

A first time trip to Zimbabwe and I could not be more pleased with our stay. We had a 2 bedroom suite for 5 and it was a lovely place, minus the bugs but it is Africa. We got to see animals daily from our room which was exciting. The helicopter ride over Victoria Falls was fanatic! We did a guided walking tour of the Falls with a wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable man named from Cossam from the VFSL. He knew all of the plants and birds we asked about on our tour and gave us a great deal of history with the falls and the various sections. The evening dinners watching the watering hole were a highlight and a true delight. The Vulture Culture lunch is a must as I learned so much about this species during the short presentation before the feeding. The lodge provides shuttles to different areas around town on a regular schedule through the day which is nice to get off properly and explore a bit without having to worry about finding your own transportation. The staff at VFSL is so friendly and welcoming. They truly made our stay pleasant and relaxing. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone wanting to visit Victoria Falls!

This lodge is situated in the National Park near the Zambezi river. A lodge style hotel in traditional open wooden buildings. The rooms are spacious and have all the usual facilities including safe, tea and coffee making and small fridge. Universal electric sockets for the travellers. The view from the balcony window was good over the watering hole but binoculars are needed to see any detail. This is not lite at night which was a disappointment. The vulture restaurant at 13:00 is amazing. 200+ vultures come to feast on an canapé of meat. Just enough to keep them coming but not to make them lazy. All part of vulture conservation. The waterhole is in darkness so you can't see any activity in the evening or at night. The restaurant available locally are limited to the hotel or the dance show restaurant unless you venture into the town centre. The menu has a good selection of dishes for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is buffet style. The service we found rather overly attentive verging on you feeling uncomfortable that every mouthful was being watched. At dinner we did get the feeling that the staff wanted to get set for breakfast and get home. Compared to hotels in South Africa and Botswana this hotel is expensive. There are a number of steps to each floor so you would need to check on disabled assess. The guest relations are happy to make arrangements for any activities such as helicopter flights.

A wonderful hotel, with a real African feel. From the minute you enter this beautiful thatched hotel set up high on a hill overlooking a waterhole you feel at home. We received a welcome drink and then were assisted to our rooms by a friendly porter. The rooms are beautifully decorated each with a balcony overlooking the valley, African bush and watering hole where animals frequently visit. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms spotless with every amenity needed- even a tub of mozzie repellent. The bar makes the best frozen cocktails and even offers complimentary delicious snacks with your sundowners. The food in the restaurant is excellent and not to be missed. An extremely well priced hotel and far superior to its competitors in this price bracket. Definitely recommended.
