This Riad is a haven in the middle of the Rabat medina. Close to the Bab Chellah, the gate nearest the main mosque, it's down a few tiny pathways, but not that difficult to find. Once in, the place is gorgeous and the owners very helpful and pleasant. They provide ear plugs that block you from hearing the 4AM chanting,... More

If I have any complaints its that we did not stay long enough! Originally Rabat was a stopover on the way to Fes, but after arriving I wanted to stay. The owners have done a wonderful job here, a lovely riad with large rooms, a rarity for a riad. The bed was the most comfortable on all our trip. All... More

Blind luck found me at the Riad El Maati, going strictly on the ratings in this web site I booked. What I found was a beautifully designed habitat where the owners live and made the most conscious and generous effort to welcome you into their home and hearts. Another riad I stayed at in Marrakech was more corporate, quite lovely... More

Riad El Maati is one of the best riad I have stayed in Morocco. And we have experience quite a few Moroccan hospitality for the past 10 years. The place is nicely decorated not fussy but still has the traditional feel to it. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We arrived on Christmas Eve and have been advised a... More

We visited friends in Rabat and wanted to stay at a typical place but we didn't suspect it would be that nice ! The riad is located very central in the Medina, not far from the Bab Chellah gate where you can take a taxi or a bus. The owners of the Riad were very friendly, the owner came to... More

Stayed there for one night. That's our first night in Morocco for our 10-day trip. Never stayed in a riad before. It indeed left a very good impression. The owner Fahrid was very friendly and helpful. Through email contacts, he helped us arrange airport pickup at Casablanca and tour the Hassan II mosque before heading to Rabat. Upon arrival, he... We stayed over new year 2011/12 at the Riad. We were in fact visiting Friends in Rabat, so just needed a roof over our heads at night time - which was almost a shame because El Maati was so lovely! We were with two girls, 7 and 3, and Fahrid and Laurence even built a special mini-bed in our room... More

My husband and I stayed at the Riad El Maati and absolutely loved it. The rooms were modern with a Moroccan touch and the owners were incredible. We only spent the night and had the opportunity to sample our hosts amazing cooking. The riad is located on the edge of the medina so it isn't that hard to find. This... More
