This is a lovely little pension right in the heart of the shopping district of the medina and close to most Restaurants. We stayed in the 'suite" , which was a little pricier than the other rooms , but much bigger and quieter as it is not on the ground floor. The pension is run by a lovely lady called... More

Situated in a fantasic spot right in the Fes medina, this Dar (a sort of riad) was cheap and comfortable but in a fairly basic way. We stayed for here 6 nights during our 5 week Morocco visit in 2011. Hard to find initially because it's in the medina, it is ideally situated a few metres off the main souk... More

This riad (dar?) was well located and everything functioned as it should (ie wifi available in the atrium ground floor, hot showers, quiet for sleeping). Despite its good location it was a challenge to find initially (but I think most places would be?). If you can find the "clocks" landmark (and Cafe Clock) if you keep heading south (with Blue... I stayed here in early 2010 (I've just joined TripAdvisor, so I'm catching up!) with my husband. The staff were incredibly lovely and the rooms were clean and tidy. What I loved was how quiet the place was - even though there were many guests, I couldn't hear anyone - really peaceful. Also, good value for money, and very close... More

I have recently travel to Morocco with family and friends and we have stayed in Dar Bouanania riad. It is true that the central courtyard of the house looks pretty good, but the rooms are not the best. We must accept that the price is cheap, but paying the same in other cities in Morocco we had more quality and... More

We had a great 4 days in Fez based at Dar Bouanania. The hostel was beautiful and very atmospheric and we appreciated really feeling like we were in Morocco! It was comfortable and has a great roof terrace to hang out on. The only downsides were that it was quite cold and damp and the bathrooms were pretty low quality.... More

I can't say enough about this place. It is in a small 19th century traditional Fassi house set around a courtyard. Make no mistake - it's not a luxury stay, but a good, clean, and well-priced option in the 1100 year-old median of Fez. My room was on the roof with a private bath. The other rooms are centered around... More

This hotel was very comfrotable and they were able to give us a room for four people for a reasonable price. As others have mentioned, the bathrooms are pretty stinky but otherwise the rooms were clean and comfortable. No rooftop pool or rooftop dining area, but it was comfortable and a good value with an excellent location and nice staff. More

There is a difference between a riad and a dar. Both are traditional Moroccon houses, but the riads have a real open air patio or courtyard. Dar Bouanania has a small patio but it's not open air (there is a kind of glassroof covering it on the highest floor), is more the common room between the 3 rooms on the... More

This riad was a disappointment. It has a very pretty interior courtyard (as do many riads in Morocco), but the rooms were dank, dark, and smelled horribly mildewy. They were also very noisy and smokey at night, due to people sitting in the common courtyard area talking and smoking. The beds were saggy, the furniture broken, and I could not... More
