Was travelling for work and pleasure to Fez, and found this Riad through trip advisor. This being my first trip to Morocco i didn't know what to expect and i was completely right. After the crazy train ride, we were coming from Casablanca and unfortunately caught the holiday season end rush so had to travel standing! from the station the... More

We moved to Riad Laayoun after staying in a larger, elaborately restored riad in another section of the medina. While the other place was spectacular, I prefered the smaller Riad Laayoun as it had a more homely atmosphere and our individual needs were graciously catered for. Jean-Claude and Simo are friendly and charming hosts When my son had a mild... More

My husband and I stayed here for three days in April. This is a lovely, well kept riad and its just beautiful on the inside. Our room was the canneli suite which was a two story room with a sitting room and large second floor bathroom with nice big windows and a balcony overlooking the courtyard of the riad. The... More

My wife and me stayed at Riad Laayoun 4 wonderful nights. We arrived by train and were picked up at the train station by the driver who took us to Place R'Cif where Simo waited for us already. He took us thru the maze of alleyways to the Riad (without him no way we would ever have found it). We... More

My 15 year old daughter and I spent two nights with Jean-Claude Himbaut and his assistant Simo in March 2012. Jean-Claude arranged for a car to pick up at the train station and deliver us to the entrance to the Medina. Jean-Claude was waiting for us and greeted us warmly by name. He then portered our bags on the circuitous... More

Stayed 4 nights in Jan/Feb in this beautiful riad. I also agree that it's the service which makes this riad stand out. Jean Claude was in France but Simo was the perfect host making the whole stay so easy. He provided maps and advice and also called arranged a guide for our first day round the very confusing medina. Stayed... More

The place itself is a palace- gorgeous mosaic tiles, vibrant and open layout with lush plants inside and a relaxing rooftop terrace. But I'd say it's definitely the staff that make this place stand out. Jean-Claude and Simon instantly make you feel at home and after a loooong drive after our desert tour, we were happy to be spoiled with... More

This is not only the most lovely of riads - but Simo is the perfect host: thoughtful, charming, generous, friendly and helpful. I can't imagine finding anywhere more wonderful to stay in Fes and if I returned to the city, I'd consider myself very lucky if they had space for me to pay a second visit. My only criticism is... My husband and I stayed at the Riad in November for 13 nights. Our first night we were greeted by Jean Claude and Simo. We also had a a delicious dinner prepared by Rachida. The next morning Simo helped gave us directions to the Medina and provided us with a map. We had a great time exploring the medina and... More
