I had read the reviews here before and was scared. Thanks to Cindy, we were treated "like we were in her home". It is an older hotel but quite, clean and friendly. Would stay here again! Don't be afraid to take the chance to experience this hotel...it is worth it. Thanks staff!

The noise between rooms in this place is terrible. People in the room above us walked the floor all night and the floors squeak!! We have stayed at the Setle Inn in Altoona several times. The rooms are very plain - though they have finally replace TV's to newer style. Furnishings are dated and cheap. Most of the single rooms have only queen beds rather than Kings even though the rooms are large enough to accommodate a king. Pool and hot tub are nite.... More

We stayed here recently on a trip to Adventureland in Des Moines. The hotel is conveniently located just down the road, maybe a mile a most, from the amusement park so not a bad drive at all. Unbelievable!!! Never would have thought this chain of hotel would allow its rooms to get so run down.floor was weak in hall way.top blanket was hairy on bottom side an smelled like sex..waking up to having itch finding bugs wasnt the way we wanted to end our day. Moved to better hotel.someone needs to fire housekeeping!!!

The hospitality was welcoming and helpful. We were grateful for recommendation of pizza delivery service which was surprisingly good. The theme room was awesome. Bed was comfortable and the space to move around generous. The continental breakfast was super as well. Would go back and definitely recommend to others.

we stay about once a year and always have a nice stay. pool/spa, close to Adventure land and casino so busy in the summer months. easy to find yet a little off the traffic line.

This place is reviewed under both Settle Inn Altoona and Altoona Settle Inn, with very different comments. Be sure to read both. I hope I never see this place again, because in my mind it's a dump and the space in the rooms (bath and bedroom) sucks big time.
