My wife and I spent get-away weekend in the Arcola, Illinois, “gateway to the Amish Country.” The area is home to some 4,500 Amish and we went in the middle of October, at the height of harvesting and Fall colors. This was just the weekend we wanted. Slow paced. Relaxed. With lots to see and do. For the “base of... More

Our stay in the Diamond House was a very enjoyable. It is a unique experience that we look forward to doing again. The hosts were great and the food was just fabulous. More

This was our first B&B we had ever stayed in and it was different but not in a bad way. Our room was very cozy and clean but no tv and since everything closes very early (like 5pm) we got very bored. Breakfast was not my cup of tea (lots of veggies, and flowers and herbs from the garden) where... More

We stayed in a beautiful room that had a huge arch window that overlooked the gardens in the back yard. All of the food was wonderful, each dish was decorated with flowers, herbs and greenery from the garden and served on delicate china. The white iron bed was perfect and comfortable. This was a perfect place for the weary travelers... More

The Flower Patch and Diamond House B&B's (side by side) are quite a surprise to find in this little berg. Very pretty, nice gardens - and the breakfast is very special with some unique - and delicious - dishes prepared by your host. Don't worry, you will get your Amish sausage along with lots of fruit and vegetables, nice baked... More

Incredible experience! While on a day trip we decided to stop for the night since it was late. We were totally unprepared, but they had everything we needed, robes in the closet, shampoo, soap, lotion, hair dryer, etc.. AND it was late at night! What a lovely gem! Clean rooms, gracious host/hostess and an AMAZING, although non-traditional, breakfast that will... More

My sister and I were so pleased with this B&B! Bill, Lynn and Daniel are perfectly suited to B&B hosting. Our spontaneous decision to stay overnight on a "mini road trip" was greeted with Lynn's very gracious welcome to our late arrival...and a pleasant little chat over a pot of tea and cookies. We were grateful for the robes supplied... More

Was really excited about this B&B from the website pictures and descriptions. We stayed at the Diamond House property in the Diamond Room. Unfortunately, our experience is not what we expected. The service was very gracious, but the B&B space was not what we have experienced with past B&B's. Decorations looked like they were thrown together and intermixed with what... More

This was a first time visit for myself and 9 sisters. We had a wonderful time enjoying the B&B. The hosts were most accommodating. The brunch was extraordinary. Enjoyed learning about the edible flowers and plants served with the meal, and the food prepared by the Chef was fantastic and different. Loved it all! We enjoyed visiting the Amish stores... More

I had such a wonderful experience at the Arcola Flower Patch Bed & Breakfast this past weekend. This was my third visit over the past three years and each stay is better than the last. Not sure where to start…Bill and Lynn Harshbarger are the perfect hosts. I was greeted with bright smiles and shown to one of the charming... More
