Great location and very helpful staff. The in room fireplaces add a nice touch to the colonial rooms. The bathrooms could use an update, but the location is simply perfect and quiet. More

The inn was furnished in colonial period furniture, the gardens were flower filled and the lobby was adorned with caged parrots, and an ancient mirimba played by various musicians. The view of the valley was special. The restaurant featured a "show" of Mayan characters and we were served and assisted by a "right hand man" assigned to our room. The... More

Perfect location to watch the Chichi Market set-up! We arrived at the Mayan Inn the day before Market day and had the opportunity to stroll out the Mayan Inn and wander through the streets watching the vendors set-up for the famous Chichicastenango Market. Many streets in ChiChi were closed because of Market day, so our bus parked at the gas... More

Beautiful buildings, reminiscent of spanish colonial style with many antiques and lovely rooms. The evening dinner had a show of 5 different types of clothing and dances related to each. It showed clothing for every day wear and special costumes for festivals. Very informative and interesting. Both supper and breakfast were very good. The grounds are beautiful, with garden areas... The personal touch of the Manager and the incredible service that we received at the hotel made up for the lack of heat and dribbling water. The location was fantastic, the staff was delightful but there is nothing like having someone smile at you to make you feel so welcome that you can hardly wait to go back. Each room... More

Freddy the manager made every effort for our group to make our stay memorable and special. This is a charming 80 year old hotel that oozes with grace and gorgeous antiques. Every room has a fireplace and you press a button by the bed and someone comes into your room to light the fire or bring you coffee. The location... More

We could stay in the suite room, which was very spacy and romantic. However, the room does not have a heater, so we has to double up on blankets at night. The shower did not have a strong water pressure, and it was just dripping. The location is great, the service is perfect, and the design, character and look of... More

My parents and I stayed at this hotel for one night as part of a Gate One tour. The important thing to remember is that it is not supposed to be a luxury experience - if you are looking for the typical 4 to 5 star hotel, you will be disappointed. Your room will be cold in the morning after... More

My husband and I stayed at the Mayan Inn for one night in November, on a Gate 1 tour, and the memories of this interesting hotel will stay with us long after those of five-star hotels have blurred. As others have said, the rooms have no heating or air conditioning, and there isn't a hair dryer. You have to let... More
