My husband and I have done the Mexico thing, husband did the Tobago thing, Vegas, Bangkok and Dublin, 5 star hotels and castles, but nothing, NOTHING compares to the Green Parrot in Belize. We rented a private cottage next to the green parrot that is managed by the resort. We were treated just as well as if we were staying at the resort itself. Cabanas, beach and overall resort is lovely, perhaps a little far from placentia (one hour bike ride) but all fine if you plan your excursions and adventures carefully. Great for a couples get away. I love Placencia it is a nice place to get away. Take some groceries with you or get them at the store just short walk (block) away. The manager and staff is great.
