Ms Dana is a great host, very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy. Prices good. Just remember, if you are in Southern Belize, it ain't the Ritz. So, adjust your expectations accordingly. (If you are complaining about garbage everywhere, then you've come to the wrong country. Belize is beautiful, but the general public don't throw their rubbish... More

The owner is delightful and extremely helpful. She has a lot of valuable information for travelers, and has made great recommendations. The linens and towels are washed for each person, and the bathroom and common area are kept clean. The dorm rooms are a bit tight, although I think the air mattresses are more hygienic than a traditional mattress.

This is beyond budget traveling. Literally; the beds are air matresses and extremely uncomfortable. It was a terrible night of sleep. There is really nowhere to relax unless you go to the rooftop - but it was unfinished and there was garbage everywhere, including diaper remnants that had been torn-up by dogs. Ugh! The other option is to hangout in... More

Not sure who posted about this place previously but this place is in a bad location, dogs are barking all night long, rooms smell, the breakfast is mediocre, and the host is very unaccomodating. Not to mention the sign in front has another name on it so I walked around dirt roads for 30mins before finding it. Stay away! And... More

Ok..so Val's is owned by Donna. She is a wonderful hostess. Her mom's name was Val. She is the best resource in town for laundry, internet, and phone service. She is so friendly, helpful, and just a delight to visit with. She has lovely hammocks on the front balcony that face the ocean. Her place is clean and well appointed... More

Everything that Letitia2004 said plus more. Val's/D's is so warm and welcoming. I noticed Dana also employs a high school aged boy to rake the beach in front of the park across from her hostel. Dana said she does for her guests to enjoy the beach. Dana also has 2 dogs, Maya and Princess to help guard my motorcycle 24... More

This place is like a four-star hotel in the hostel world. The owner, Dana, is so warm and welcoming. A breakfast of waffles, fruit, and coffee is included. The showers are hot and the wifi is fast. There is a fan on each bed as well as a wraparound clothesline if you prefer to wash your own laundry (Dana has... More

When in Dangriga - stay here! It is not a five star sleeping, but it is clean, safe and you will get an amazing breakfast (waffles, fruit and coffee). The owner/manager s a really nice and friendly lady. There is a WiFi internet too.

If you are staying in Dangriga, this seems to be the place to be. Dana is amazing and really encourages relaxing. I was the only one in the dorm at the time, but I could see the air mattresses being really noisy if the dorm was full. The room was spotless, the fans were great, and the the little patio... More

This place runs 3 dorms - a male, a female, and a mixed. It isn't particularly cheap (B$22 per person), and for the money I would have expected a proper mattress, rather than an inflatable one. (Mind you, other accommodation in Dangriga also seemed to be expensive). There are plenty of fans in the room, which is good. Also there... More
