This was my third trip to duPlooy's Jungle Lodge and I am still so in love with the place that I am planning my wedding there next spring. We continue to stay with duPlooys because we appreciate that the emphasis is on the jungle. Anyone who has enthusiasm for tropical flora and fauna would love the canopy level deck from... More

Ten of us enjoyed five nights at duPlooy's as our base for visiting Maya sites in the area. This is a well-cared-for, ecologically-sound jungle lodge with many of the comforts of home. The grounds are attractive, the veranda bar relaxing, and the staff aim to please. Our hosts provided us with THE most knowledgeable and accommodating guide (Fermin Tzib) and... More

We booked our entire Belize vacation through DuPlooys and Edwin was extremely helpful and patient in putting together a custom package for us. My wife and daughter don't travel much so my major worry was ensuring they felt safe and didn't stress. DuPlooy's took care of everything and we never felt confused or stranded; we didn't have to worry about... More

What a great deal. DuPlooy's is about 15 minutes past San Ignacio with the last 10 minutes or so on a dirt road. But it's well worth it. There's access to the river, canoes and a short river tube float, some outdoor space for the kids to let loose, very nice and clean accommodations, great food, and a nice bar... More

We did not stay at duPlooys Jungle Lodge (not because we had an issue with the lodge but we were traveling to Belize with a toddler and a senior citizen and so we wanted to stay in town and have air conditioning). We did, however, use their travel agency. We would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Belize and/or... More

My family and I spent four nights at duPlooys. It was a wonderful escape from the hectic outside world. Located three hours away from Belize City airport a member of duPlooys staff will drive you to duPlooys passing through many Belizean towns offering a great look into Belize's eccentric culture. The rooms at duPlooys were simple yet clean and comfortable.... More

My husband and I spent a night at duPlooy's on our recent vacation to Belize. What a wonderful escape from the busy world... We had a fantastic visit with not near enough time to do all the adventures offered. Our room was nice, comfortable and with a lovely hammock on our enclosed front porch and with a couple nice comfortable... More

I was the faculty leader for a university one credit research spring break embedded travel research course--students had to develop a project concerning Belize, but could tailor to their own areas of interest. We ranged from medicinal plants and environmental engineering to cultural diversity to linguistics to economics and more. Obviously, we had a range of interests to accommodate as... More

duPlooy's Jungle Lodge is a wonderful facility in a spectacular location. If one is looking for a higher end jungle lodge experience with impressive environmental sensibilities and opportunities for many outdoor activities, we would highly recommend it. With the Belize Botanic Gardens and the Macal River at your doorstep, one hardly has to leave the property to enjoy many adventures.... More

What else could we ask for? Great, helpful staff, tasty food, comfortable and spacious cabins, free clean water for sensitive stomachs, trails and the Botanical Gardens to explore, and a river to canoe to San Ignacio complete with a ride back to the lodge. Kinkajous to feed at night and aracaris, ant-tanagers, chachalacas, and others to watch at the fruit... More
