We stayed at duPlooy's in early April. The name is very telling, the property is in the midst of the jungle perched above the Macal River. The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Several of the staff had said they took jobs at the Beach hoping for bigger opportunities, but came back because the duPlooy family takes care of... More

Overall a very nice experience. Staff was most helpful and personable. We really enjoyed our horseback guide (Emil) to Xunantunich, and our birding guide/chauffeur, Phillip, was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. He made our trip over very rough roads to El Pilar extremely pleasant. If you're a birder, put this on your list. The bungalows are roomy, private and clean. Great... More

Stayed at Duplooys for a week in January and would not hesitate to visit again. Accommodations were beautiful, the setting was amazing and the staff was incredible. From the owner to the staff, everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. Anything you need or want they are more than willing to help with. we both were sick for a day and... More

We had a very nice stay at DuPlooy's. The staff is very friendly. We really like the bar tender, Aneiber. Jungle Joe was great too. We called Alex, Alex the Great, and he would smile from ear to ear. We had a great room. The food was excellent. We liked seeing the kinkajou, the toucans, and the other animals. We... More

This lodge is worth the bumpy ride to get here, and it's a good location if you're doing Tikal and/or ATM cave tour. Our favorite things were the nightly gatherings in the lounge area to meet fellow travelers, the nightly visits of the resident kinkajou, and the river tubing. The restaurant had a very limited menu....3 entrees every night and... More

We chose to stay here instead of Chaa Creek because we were looking for the jungle adventure, not manicured lawns. The lodge itself was great and out in the middle of nowhere (long bumpy road to get there.) Seven of us stayed in the Mopan Suite in the River House. The rooms were a decent size and the two bathrooms... More

We stayed in La Casita for four nights as a family of 4, my wife and two boys 9 and 11. It was incredible, the house was very private with great decks with hammocks and king sized beds. We were up early every morning and saw every species of bird imaginable up close and personal. The evening brought its fair... More

It was my first trip to Belize and I was surprised that duPlooys was so remote (roads are really rough) to get to but well worth the trip. It's very charming, with easy going and friendly staff, very laid back atmosphere, and very beautiful. We spent our first day wandering in the botanical garden and along the river. A great... More

We had read information and reviews about DuPlooy's Jungle Lodge prior to booking it so we really did have a good idea of what we were getting into. Yes, it really is in the jungle so you need to expect certain things. Our driver met us at the airport with a sign with our name. That was a relief. It... More

In a previous trip to Belize my luggage went missing on my flight from Canada. When I checked into duPlooys I told them what happened and for the next four days the staff members called the airline on my behalf and washed my only set of clothes for free. Since then, I always make duPlooys my first stop in Belize... More
