We (our 21 months old toddler, my wife and me) have been staying in April 2013 for 4 nights. We asked at the time of booking for a baby bed, which the didn't have. However, the attached another bar to a bunk bed and our daughter was all set. Ron and Al gave us a very warm welcome. They are... More

My friend and I spent another wonderful adventure vacation at the Macaw Jungle Lodge. Our first trip was in 2011, and I couldn't wait to go back! This time we planned a long enough stay (5 days instead of 4) to spend some time relaxing in the hammocks, tubing down the river, and one very memorable afternoon birdwatching from the... More

The Macaw Bank is a beautiful and welcoming gem of a lodge deep into Cristo Rey Road (about 20-30 min) from San Ignacio. It is a great spot for experiencing the jungle in a secluded location, with beautiful grounds, comfy cabins, river tubing, delicious, home-cooked meals, and friendly staff, while providing a good jumping off-place for reaching the main attractions... My family of four (two adults and 12 and 15 year old) stayed at the Macaw Bank Jungle Lodge for five nights in April. The place is gorgeous, the location is perfect (about 20 minutes outside of town), the food was great, the grounds are amazing, the tubing was fun but the very best part was Ron and Al. They... More

This was an outstanding adventure and relaxation vacation. Owners Ron and Al and their "family" of Macaw Bank employees are what made this such a unique experience. Our cabana was perfect, beautiful wood ceiling, outdoor shower and even cool at night. The grounds are jungle landscaped with hammacks and trails that lead to the Macaw River. Ron is plugged into... I have recently returned from my first trip to the amazing country of Belize. I was very fortunate to have chosen Macaw Bank as my home away from home for my jungle adventure. The proprietors Ron and Al were the best! They helped us every step of the way in planning our daily adventures, (don't miss the ATM caves!). Before... More

Ron and Al are consummate hosts. They charm with witty conversation and sincere hospitality. The cabanas are each unique, with traditional, vaulted Mayan thatched roofs, and are perfectly situated to allow for a sense of privacy in the jungle enclave, while also offering creature comforts and convenience. The dining is exceptional, with candle-lit dinners on the veranda, alongside a stone... More

A larger group of 9 friends stayed here in back in June of 2011 and to this day we still talk about the fantastic time we had at Macaw Bank. This place just has to be experienced to be believed. From arranging specialized menus for our guests, to arranging activities in and around the gorgeous San Ignacio area to just... More

Ron and Al are your friendly hosts at this quiet wilderness spot. They can arrange reasonably priced guided trips to beautiful places like Rio Frio for swimming and several caves and ruins. If you choose to stay put you can float down the lazy river in tubes and swim at shadey and cool spot that is a short and easy... More

Thank you for taking time to write your fantastic review. I just wanted to make sure readers are clear that our dinners are not $50usd., but are $25usd. I believe there is a little confusion between Belize dollars, and US dollars here. One can have three meals per day here for $50. usd Also please note that dinners come with... More

I'll explain why I gave it perfect scores one by one: Service - Our hosts doted on us at every turn and were huge fun just to chat with after a day of adventure. Having been a longstanding team for decades in antiques and service, Ron and Al take tremendous pride in their Macaw Bank Lodge. My best friend and... More
