As of 1/2011: This place is very simple. No tv, AC or Internet, but it's on a great, secluded part of the island. Open the windows and the ocean breeze comes flying in! These are basically cabins, 2 separate rooms sharing a bathroom. Some are singles. It's clean and Shirley keeps the place looking nice. It has a big open... More

Shirley was helpful but not intrusive. The cabin was basic but clean. The grounds were the best. Shade and lounging chairs in the sand. Hammock on the porch was the best. Near the airport, but frequent small planes in and out were fun to watch. Shirley pointed out Good places to eat and even shared a book when I finished... More

I recently stayed in Shirley's for 5 nights with my partner and a friend. We had both sides of the duplex cabin, each with private bath, hot water shower, refrigerator and coffee maker. The two of us had also stayed in the same cabin in 2004. Shirley's place was just as beautiful and relaxing as we remembered it. The cabins... More

We stayed at Shirley's place for two nights. The rooms are clean, with hot water, a small fridge and a fan which we didn't even use. There are only a few cabins located at a good distance from each other. The common area has chairs under palm trees with great ocean views. If you are an early bird you can... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shirley's. It's located in a peaceful part of the island and is a fantastic place to chill out. Shirley was extremely kind and helpful. She gave fabulous advice about which trips to do and places to eat. The cabins were cozy and comfortable. We had our room made up every day and were given... More

Our recent stay at Shirley's was wonderful. Having researched the island, we were able to walk directly to Shirley's right off the water taxi. It was a bit of a hike but worth it to us to be away from the village. The rooms are clean and basic. The hot water is well worth the wait. (It takes several minutes... More

When we first arrived at Shirley's Guest House and saw the room, my friend and I were impressed with how quiet it was, the cleanliness of the rooms was acceptable, and we were so weary from checking out room after room that we decided it would be a relief to just pay and set down our bags so we could... Seemed like the perfect spot to have a quiet vacation, but it turned out to be a nightmare. The owner, Shirley, will wake you up every morning so she can clean your room (what's a vacation without some long sleeps?!) This was especially uncomfortable because she will open your room's door while you're sleeping. I advice you to ask for... More

We have chosen Shirley's based on positive reviews, but we were disappointed. While we stayed there it was almost impossible to get to that place. Everything was flooded. And since it is quite a walk away from town, it wasn't great fun to go out to dinner at night. We also got the worst bug bites at nights. Since we... More

Staying at Shirley's was like staying at your great aunt's lake cabin. It was outdated, but very clean. There were rules posted on the door. And there was a giant cockroach in the bathroom one night, but don't worry, I got him. I was not impressed when we first arrived, but after staying five nights, I didn't want to go!... More
