The hotel is need of a good cleaning and updates. The carpet is filthy and turns your socks black within five minutes, keep your shoes on. The room was only cleaned once in the four night stay we had,we had to ask for clean towels everyday. We booked a room with two double beds but we were put in a room... More

Our family of 3, 2 older adults and 1 teen, stayed at Coral Reef Inn for 2 nights in mid-March 2012. Our oldest son lives on Alameda, which is primarily why we chose the Coral Reef since it's just a few blocks from his apartment. Also, the price was right, at less than $100 for a standard, double queen room... More

We had some business to do in Berkeley, but our 11-year-old daughter begged us to not stay in Berkeley, which scandalized her the last time we were there. So we had to look for some place that was family friendly. So glad we ended up in Alameda and Coral Reef Inn, with a suite by the lagoon that had resident... More

We only stayed one night. Very convenient location near grocery and eating establishments. Appears to have been apartment complex on prior life. Small tv, kitchen big but no dishes, utinsels, pots, glasses, etc. Bed was very firm! Overall good value for the low price. Recommend for those on a budget who dont expect Hilton quality. More

My husband and I visited Alameda to ride bikes on the Bay Trail. This hotel was just steps from bike/walking trails. In the evening we walked down Park Street to the various locally owned shops and nightlife (there is a mall directly across the street from the hotel if that fits your plans better) and felt completely safe. The coral... More

Arrived at hotel in evening. Hotel had not received fax from Hotels.com for reservation. Staff took care of this after some wait. Coffee and hot chocalate in lobby. Hotel shares parking lot with apartment next door. Hotel actually looks like an apartment. Located in nice area across from Walgreens, Applebees and Panera. Near downtown shops. Room nice, not fancy. Clean... More

On September 30, 2011, I arrived at the Coral Reef Inn with my reservation. The manager stated he had no record of my reservation despite my confirmation number. He was completely unsympathetic and offered no resolution. I called the travel agency who had email conifmation with the hotel of my reservation. They called the manager and he was only able... More

We checked in early and asked that our room directly over the lobby and facing the parking lot be changed to a quieter location which the somewhat surly front desk manage refused to do. He said the hotel was full, which it was -just not when we checked in.This place is really run down, paper thin walls, not secure and... More

I had read mixed reviews about this location and am so glad I booked it! The staff was friendly & helpful. The suite was HUGE! And conveniently located! Yes, it was a bit "dated". That really was no problem. Three closets?!! A full kitchen (BYO plates & utensils), livingroom, small dinette, standard bath and bedroom (bed: Hubby slept like a... More
