With only one night in Washington, we chose to stay here due to its proximity to all the historical sights in the area. We were a 10-minute walk from the White House, the Smithsonian and the Washington Monument. This is a great base to enjoy the sights of DC from. The hotel was very elegant, if a little bit corporate... More

The hotel lobby was very nice, and we loved the iced fruity water offered there, although this service is mostly complimentary now. The location is the best about the hotel, it's right next to the national mall, all the museums are in walking distance. Also the stuffs are very friendly, they offer very nice services.

You will be at a perfect location for exploring the City...all the staff are friendly and attentive. The floors are gigantic so some rooms come with some built-in exercise to walk to the room. The rooms are VERY quiet for a downtown location...unless you can get a group or discount rate the cost is steep. We enjoyed room service and... More

Well you can't really beat the location; you may come close or tie, but this is about as good as it gets for being in the center of it all. That was our #1 priority and thankfully, we nailed it. As for the hotel overall, it was pretty good. I've traveled the world many times over, so this didn't leave... More

Stayed there for a convention and the rooms were some of the smallest rooms I have ever seen! There was no fan or ventilation in the bathroom and the thermostat was not effective. Often the Concierge was understaffed and the front desk help was not the friendliest. The door staff, greeters, gift shop, and valet folks were very nice though.... More

Thank you for your feedback. Although we will be careful to follow up on your concerns with the front desk, I was very appreciative for your recognition of the staff. While consistent with similar hotels in the downtown market, I understand the room size may be smaller than other hotels you have seen. Thank you again for your candor. Dan... More

I stayed here for the weekend to run a half-marathon. As far as JW goes, it's a nice hotel and is on par with my expectations. The lounge serves good breakfast. What annoys me about Marriott and most North American big chain hotels is that most of them close the lounge on the weekends, which in my opinion is a... More

Attended a business event the first week of May 2013. Room was not ready when I arrived mid-morning, but they promised to call me when the room was ready. 2 hours later I received that call, simply picked up my key at the front desk, and went to my 10th floor room overlooking Pennsylvania Avenue and the Washington Monument. Good... More

Spent 4 days in DC for our anniversary. The hotel upgraded us to a corner window room with views of The US Capital and Washington Monument. They brought up chocolate covered strawberries and champagne which was a very nice touch and so appreciated. DC is a great city and this location is central to all of the sights.

I stayed here and paid what I thought was a pretty steep price (even for DC) for a standard, ordinary room (just over $310 per night with tax) only because it was near an event I was attending. For that price I was put on one of the lowest floors - no view which fortunately I didn't care about since... More

This is a little late of a review, but it might help those debating which Marriott to stay at while in D.C. since there are quite a few to chose from. My girlfriend and I stayed at this location the past New Years Eve. I am a platinum Marriott member and only got the status due to extensive travel for... More
