If you're looking at this review, you need a place in DC and have already discovered that nice places are not cheap. But the George Washington University Inn is reasonable. Located three blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro, the GWUI may be what you're looking for. It was for us. The room we had on the 7th floor was nice,... More

With demand high, hotel rooms in the capital come at a premium - so we were not expecting bargains! During our search for something affordable for a short stay in Washington DC the George Washington University Inn seemed one of the few that 'ticked all our boxes'. Snow in New York delayed our transfer flight so we arrived somewhat bleary-eyed... More

I'd like to give this hotel 3 1/2 stars but couldn't really justify 4. This is a small, quiet hotel on the GWU campus. It's in a residential neighborhood. We didn't notice any shops/restaurants on this street, but the hotel does have a restaurant which we didn't try. We were upgraded to a King suite/efficiency. The size of the room... More

Two blocks from the Kennedy Center, short walk to Georgetown and to the metro. The staff at the front desk very friendly and accommodating. The hotel needs updating but the room was large, comfortable and quiet. We stayed in a king suite which had a small kitchen area, plates, utensils, fridge. Exceptional for $79. There is a small restaurant on... More

I chose this hotel primarily because it was convenient to a conference I was attending. It is convenient to the Metro, thus easy to get to, there are several good restaurants in the area, including one of my favorites, First Farmers. The hotel restaurant was quite nice for dinner as well although some confusion ensued when meeting a friend since... More

Perfect hotel to explore Washington. Near to subway, valet parking if coming from outside the City. Large rooms, very comfortable and reasonable price. Very helpful front desk. The only gripe, being the the breakfast was expensive for what it consisted of. Would definitely book this hotel when visiting DC More

Hotel has some definite flaws; staff worked hard to compensate for them in my case, but certain things can't be fixed. Heat is a noisy and windy fan under the window. Problem is, cold air leaks in from under it, which can be an issue when the windchill hits 15F (my case) and you tend to sleep on the floor... More

We couldn't have found a better location. A walking distance from lincoln memorial, many supermarkets, and m street (which is where you do all the shopping!). We suggest you don't take taxis, they're quite over priced. Public transport is cheaper. There was free WiFi in our room. The king room includes a very comfortable king bed and a not-so comfortable... More

This place was a hidden gem on a recent work trip down to DC! Very affordable (unlike alot of what was available), clean, beautiful, utterly serviceable. Near the subway station, nice area, alot in walking distance. More

For me, internet connectivity is a make or break deal - I need it for work and recreation. When a hotel property advertises complimentary high speed internet, that figures prominently in my decision making process. A free breakfast is a sweetener but not a deal closer. I have had broadband internet at home for many years and high speed is... More

Dear Alan, We certainly appreciate you taking the time to write your comments about our hotel on Tripadvisor. Good or bad, feedback is necessary for us so that we can either praise our successes, or learn and correct our mistakes. I am sorry that you feel that our breakfast was not up to standard.
