April 10, 2013, I made a "reservation" at The Baron for May 14 to May 18. Confirmation number on the email I received. But today, May 10, I receive an email that they cannot confirm my reservation. Of course, I called immediately, having made all sorts of plans for visiting DC. Young lady at the desk said they didn't have... More

I have stayed in better Motels. Four stories high and elevator not working, rooms are very small and offer no extras, no coffee maker, no refrigerator, no microwave, nothing more than an hair dryer. If you want coffee have to walk downstairs. They have a small breakfast in the morning with coffee, two types of cereal and danish then charge... More

If you are looking for a cheap downtown location, The Baron hotel is the place for you. You shouldn't care too much about music or live bands though, as there is a bar in the same building! Our room was clean and the beds comfortable. Don't take the breakfast because it is not worth its 5$ .. there are a... More

The initial impression you get is that you have stumbled upon a down-at-heel European hostel hotel. Don't get me wrong - the location is great for the subway, eating and there is an excellent bar in the basement with a huge range of craft beers to try - but there is no separate entrance to the lobby and the decor... We pre paid this booking through Hotels.com. otherwise we would have left before checking in. It's very dingy, dark and basic. In need of a complete refurbishment. No facilities at all, not even a lift. The double rooms were tiny and very shabby. However, the bed linen was clean as was the bathroom and it was an easy walk from... More

We actually have no much time to stay here, that is why we didnot see anything bad from this hotel. Just something was not available as breakfast and bellman. We should leave heavy luggage downstairs instead bring all up because there is not elevator in this hotel. There is coffee amenities in lobby, it is nice for early arrival. Their... More

let me start by saying, that for under $75 per night, this was a DC bargain, and is located two blocks from the Q street exit of the DuPont circle metrorail. secondly, it has a large restaurant and bar, on the main floors, that appears to be an active fun place. the entire building is smokefree. it is a very... The main reason for me of choosing this hotel was it's locations. I had some issues in the embassy and didn't want to spend much money on the hotel. So I've chosen a budget variant. The hotel itself is really basic, don't expect anything special or extraordinary in terms of design, room service, furniture or decorative components. I had no... More

Hotel Baron is a very competitive hotel. The décor is dated is common areas and some rooms but the rooms themselves are adequate and very clean. Value for money is good for the location. I have stayed here a number of times and would stay here again!

The only good point of this hotel was its location, which was quite close from the metro station and in the center of Washington DC. The bad points: our initial room was very noisy (because of a big column of air just outside the window). We asked to change and got a room on the first floor just above the... More
