My family (husband and 2 kids 11 and 9) rented the Garden Apartment the last week of March. The great thing about the Ivy Mansion is the location. The area is beautiful and is very close to many great restaurants and the Metro station is only 3 blocks. We were provided with a weekly parking pass, so we did not... More

This property is in a great location for wonderful restaurants & and is very close to transportation. It is a two minute walk to Connecticut Street which is lined with wonderful shops & place to eat. The Metro train is just around the corner and provides a simple way to access the Smithsonians and the Zoo. The house is nice... More

I recently spent three months as a visiting scholar with a DC university, and took accommodation at the Ivy Mansion. When I left in December, it was my home away from home. It is difficult to speak highly enough of the Ivy Mansion. The proprietress, Dana, promises 'gracious living' and 'gentle prices' and that is precisely what she delivers -... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. When we arrived the owner was not home as previously advised due to a family issue as such it took us a while to figure out how to get in but we did. We went up to our room which was very large and nice, the wood floors were creaky but that is expected... More

I always imagined how it was to live in a Brownstone in DC, and finally realized this dream at Ivy Mansion while attending a conference at the nearby Hilton. One difficult thing with being on the road for work is that sense of alienation as you tend to stay in gray hotels most of the time. Ivy Mansion instead gave... More

The location is fantastic! You can’t beat it. It’s on a beautiful, tree-lined street near DuPont Circle. Just around the corner within an easy walking distance are several wonderful restaurants: Bistro du Coin, La Tomate, Bistro Bistro, Pizzeria Paradiso and a Starbucks, of course. We had great dinners at all these restaurants and also a nice breakfast at the Café... More

My first comment: if you stay at Ivy Mansion make sure you know its street address! We didn't, and when we arrived at night we had awful trouble finding the B&B because we didn't have an exact address for the bus/tax driver to enter into his GPS. We had the address from the website, which is a corner, but the... More

First Comment: Thanks for the 5-star review! And thanks for the constructive feedback. In my haste to return to my hometown to respond to a family emergency, I neglected to include the inn's address in my welcome email to this guest--only the most important piece of information! I sincerely apologize for the confusion. As for the finishing touches, well your... More

Dana was very kind & accommodating. She has a lovely place and knows her city. Great location and one of the best areas for dining in DC. One of the best spots is the French "Bistro du Coin"... literally a block away. Great atmosphere, cafe style, great menu, great desserts, reasonable.

I stayed in the Ivy Mansion from January - March 2011, after returning from a foreign service posting abroad. The room I rented fell within the limit of the Home Service Transfer Allowance that I received upon my return to Washington, and negotiating payment with Dana, the proprietor, was a breeze. In addition, Dana’s bookkeeper provided me with timely receipts... More

My wife and I stayed at the apartment for five nights. It was clean and comfortable and felt like a second home. Dana was extremely helpful, recommending restaurants and attractions. Very convenient to the Metro, great restaurants, and upscale Connecticut Ave. shops such as the Kid's Closet. Located on a quiet, residential street one block from the Phillips Collection, an...
