We really enjoyed our stay at McCormick House. Thanks Jeanne and Carl for the friendliness and hospitality shown to us whilst we were with you. Our room was light, airy and comfortable. The food delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. Nothing was too much trouble and your advice was very helpful when we were looking for places to visit and somewhere... More

Thank you Jeanne & Carl for everything!!! Loved your arts and crafts home! The grounds were fun to walk around and take pictures of your native plants. We had homemade muesli for the first time & loved it! Fresh fruit and homemade bread and a great education on honey! YUM! We stayed 3 nights and loved our room, a bit... More

When I stay in these boutique bed and breakfast locations, which are almost unique to New Zealand, I judge them on three criteria. The layout out of the property and the rooms sense of specialness. The passion of our hosts for offering hospitality. The quality of the breakfasts. In all three regards McCormick House delivers I felt at home, welcomed... More

It was a pleasure to have you both stay with us, Michelle. As a host it is great to get feedback, discuss ideas, and share what we have learned about our beautiful country. Jeanne and I very much enjoyed having you stay at McCormick House. More

Hi there, I held my wedding at McCormick House last week. It was a small wedding and the front garden was perfect. I also stayed the night and the rooms were absolutely gorgeous and well appointed. The owners Carl and Jeanne are lovely and went out of their way to make everything go to plan. I would thoroughly recommend this... More

Jeanne and I are glad everything went so well with our first boutique wedding at McCormick House. We were very aware that things may not go to plan, but it was so easy to discuss with Amber, what needed to happen on the day. So many details need to be worked through for everyone's expectations to be met. Everyone involved helped... More

We discovered this wonderful accommodation as part of an arranged trip to do the Queen Charlotte Track. The standard of service from Carl and Jeanne was outstanding and we were made so welcome in their gorgeous house. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we would without hesitation return to enjoy more time there. We spent a total of... More

We book-ended our five day walk on the Queen Charlotte Sound track with overnights at McCormick House at start and finish. This turned out be a great decision, as everything about this B&B is of exceptionally high standard and incredibly welcoming. When we arrived on the ferry from Wellington, Carl and Jeanne the owners picked us up from the terminal... More

Last month we were lucky enough to stay at McCormick House a lovely Arts and Craft Home. We were treated to an excellent room, spacious clean and relaxing. Close to the port for our morning departure on the Picton Ferry. Carl even recommended a nice restaurant for dinner which we enjoyed. Our breakfast was first class. We highly recommend staying... We stayed for two nights. House smelt liked cats. Rooms were small dark and cluttered considering the rates. The house is a 20 minute walk from town centre and the only views are the neighbors back gardens. Host were nice enough but if your hoping for a view of the water this is not the place to stay

We were not totally surprised to read this review. The husband made the booking, whom we found pleasant and courteous. From the moment his wife/partner arrived, she was frosty, making this a very uncomfortable stay for us. To set the record straight: Yes we do have two cats, Libby and Toby, who live full time in our separate part of... More

An excellent B&B, with impressive attention to detail and superb food. Staying in with the platter one evening was a great way to relax at the end of an active day. Our hosts were wonderfully informative about the area, nothing was too much trouble, and we hated having to leave.

The hosts are unfailingly polite, cheerful and helpful. You feel like a real guest and not a paying one. The rooms are large, very clean and the bathrooms are top notch. Best B&B we have ever stayed at! Breakfast is great as well.
