What an amazing start to our family holiday in NZ. My wife, myself and our two year old son stayed here for three nights. We arrived early in the evening after driving thru a horrendous snow storm on our way from Christchurch and let me say I was absolutely bowled over by the wonderful service. We were given a bottle... This is the second time we have stayed at the Akaroa Village Inn and find it convenient for the shops and the quayside. The rooms are clean and tidy and each time we have had a 2 bed apartment though only booked a standard room. The room was at the back of the complex (no harbour view) but very quiet.... More

We had a comfortable two bedroom unit overlooking the harbour. The whole place was clean and the manager was very helpful. It is easy to recommend the apartment we had - No. 68. We were given fresh milk, information about the town etc. I must say, nothing in town seems to open till after 10.30 am. Seems like they were... More

We had a 2 bedroom apartment facing the main waterfront. This is an interesting complex of several properties on what was obviously a block in the old town. Rooms were comfortable, clean and reasonably well appointed and walking distance to restaurants and facilities. Note - if a cruise liner rocks into harbour you really don't want these rooms if you... It seems that the Akaroa Village Inn offers a number if different types of accommodation. We stayed in one of the Waterfront Superior Suites and were absolutely delighted to have stayed there. The accommodation, which is really a mini apartment was very, very spacious. A large lounge area with a small dining table and kitchen area at one end. The... More

Per our travel agent, we were supposed to have a La Voyager Apartment overlooking the Akaroa Harbor. We did not; the excuse was that they were all booked, so we got a dumpy, dingy room #57 off a small hall on the back street. The "apartment" actually had two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the second with two... More

This hotel has a perfect location just by the water with excellent views! Close to all restaurants and boat trips departing from the pier. Large and comfortable with all new facilities. The only thing to complain about was the boring pool and pool area, although heated and nice! Definitely recommended!

We were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment and it was clean, well equipped and we appreciated the balcony overlooking the sea and central location opposite the wharf where the dolphin swimming trips depart. Everything you could want was included (apart from aircon) and the only downside was that the taxis used to gather early in the morning under the... More

Was quiet disappointed in this place for what we paid. When one is paying NZ $350 a night not to have air conditioning on a very hot summers night along with no sky TV when we really wanted to watch the Mens tennis final in Melbourne , we think its over priced ! Then you have the cruise ship buses... More

If you don't mind being in the center of it all -- across from a busy wharf, lots of walkers, gawkers, and late-night talkers (under your balcony), this is the place for you. Great views for sure, but noisy and bright at night in our waterfront unit (Jacques), so despite the heat (very hot in Akaroa that day),had to close... More
