As a mature age travelers my sister in law and i found the dome hostel very friendly, sure the rooms were shabby and the bathrooms pretty ordinary but this was made up for the location of hostel and the very friendly lady who ran it, all in all a very pleasant stay.

The hostel is in the very center at walking distance from all Riga attractions. On the other side it is very dirty and smelly, our group slept in 3 different rooms and many of us found bed bugs and were bit by bugs during the night. I can handle a 'less-than' fantastic hostel, but when a property showcases themselves as 'newly renovated in january 2006' and clearly is not - i can not abide false advertising or blatant lying! The hostel has an excellent location right in the centre of the old town. Although this means it can get a little loud occasionally with people coming out of pubs in the evening, the location is unbeatable for all of Riga's top sights as well as all the restaurants and bars.
