I have never stayed in a hostel before and was skeptical at first. When we arrived the staff was very friendly and helpful. He gave us maps and advice as to where to go and what we might like. The room was way beyond my expectations. Very clean, quiet and walking distance to all the major sites. I would definitely... More

I have stayed in some quite terrible hostels in the past so was a bit tentative about this one, seeing as it was only 8 Euro/night, however I was pleasantly surprised. The hostel had a homely feel, was located within an apartment building with only a few rooms and large communal kitchen, balcony and living room. Being a relatively small... More

Astoria City Hostel has to be one of the cheapest and well located hostel in Budapest. I had a very warm experience there. The dorms were really clean and tidy. I reached way before my check-in time but the staff allowed me in so that I could rest for a while before the bed got ready. I was very impressed... More

Was pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of the room kyself and 2 friends shared on another level of the building away from the dorms. Shared a bathroom with a couple of other roomd and had access to a kitchen. Difficult to find initially- could be better signposted but great location for the Jewish area and access to metrolines... I went there last minute and booked the last available double room for the new year. It's not really a hostel, more like converted condos. Every room has been turned into a bedroom/dorm except the kitchen and the bathroom. So it's quite cosy and much more quiet than a regular hostel. Overall, it's a nice and clean place. The building... Highly recommended. The staff was extremely helpful, the location was great. Wifi and free use of the computer. Breakfast included (not the best thing you ever taste, but good value for money!). The rooms were very clean and so were the bathrooms. Search the area, just a few meters from the hostel (around the corner) we found an excelent place... More

the hostel is quite small; it has three or four dorm rooms, a common room with a couch, computers and table to eat, a kitchen with fresh toast, tea coffee, cornflakes etc. and a shelf with lots and lots of brochures and leaflets of budapest and other cities in the hallway. my friends and i have, however, found only positive... Everything that is needed to have a good stay in Budapest: good location, nice, helpful and very well English speaking staff, comfortable and clean room :)))) Kitchen and bathrooms were very big and well equipped. I recommend that hostel to people who want to spend unforgettable moments in Budapest. And the price is really ok for all those conveniences.

I definitely recommend Astoria City to anyone visiting Budapest. The location is perfect, right around the corner from great bars and restaurants and Szimpla Kert is only a three minute walk away. The guys were friendly and helpful. While waiting to get our linen and to be shown to our building they said we were to help ourselves to free... More

As everybody says the position of the hostel is extremely good. Plus the personnel is really helpful and social, they even prepared a typical hungarian dinner for us! For a few days it's just perfect.
