Stayed here for 1 night as the neighbouring hotel (griff) was fully booked. The hotel looks like it used to be a hospital and the rooms look typical back packer style. Ok if you want basic accomodaton ,2 desks , 3 single beds and a sink, and a shared shower/toilet. It's just such a shame there is no tv in... More

First of all - there are two hotels just next to each other - Hotel Griff, which seems to be a rather normal 3* business hotel and Hotel Griff Junior - which is a 1* hotel we stayed in. The building was (or maybe still is) a normal student dormitory - long corridors, unappealing look, communal showers and toilets. We... More

I think that the hotel's building is from socialist era - some kind of after-work sanatorium or smth like that. Nevertheless, our room had 3 beds, simple WC and douche, and even wired Internet connection. Suitable for low-budget 1-2 nights staying to look at beautiful Budapest by the whole family or the group of young friends. the car park is... More

The Griff Junior is a cheaper and less classy alternative to the adjacent Griff hotel. With a total lack of any form of luxury, this facility actually resembles a hostel more than a hotel, but is nonetheless kept clean and in good shape. POSITIVE ASPECTS Easy to reach by car, trams, national and international trains. Clean and somewhat comfortable rooms.... More

I was supposed to stay in Budapest for 2 nights, but left after one so I didn't have to stay here again. The rooms are disgusting, the sheets are full of hair and the towels are stained. We went to breakfast and there was nothing left. There are rooms in the hostal which I'm assuming are leased as apartment-type housing,... More

The price is great, the location is good and the staff is helpful. We were not expecting luxury - but the place is FILTHY! The bathroom smells, the towels had stains of blood and the bed was full of hairs. I would never go back there nor recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I were visiting Budapest on November 1st 2007, and stayed for 2 nights. We stayed in Hostel Griff Junior, which is just 1 tram station from Kelenföldi railway station. It´s in Bartók Béla street between Somogyi and Ballagi Mór street. Hotel is cheap (15 euros per person per night - including breakfast), but is very clean. Furniture... More

I went to a Budapest last year in spring and stayed in this hotel for a two days. I want to recommend it to all people who would love to see Budapest and save some money on a Hotel. We rented en-suite for 3 persons-the price was about 18 euros per person, per night-breakfast included. The room was nice, very clean,with... More

My girlfriend booked Hotel Griff Junior through a travel agent for our trip to Budapest two years ago. Besides the convenient price, our requirement was to have a room for two with en-suite bathroom and shower. In fact, the Griff is divided in two neighboring buildings - one is a three star hotel (Griff), the other one (Griff Junior) is... More

This is a truly awful hotel, you should avoid at all costs. It may be cheap (€37 for a triple room), but it's cheap for a reason : it's disgusting. Communal toilets, shower and kitchen did little to inspire confidence, unless you like green mould growing in the showers,,,,,, Would probably appeal to back-packers, but given that Budapest is fairly...
