We couldn't have had a more pleasant experience then spending twelve straight nights at the Alef-I guess that's more time than usual to stay in one city, but we decided to have a central spoke and wheel philosophy rather than have to schlep every day to a new place and have to carry all your stuff plus your gifts and... The only thing this hotel has going for it is that the location is perfect to do all the tourist things. 7mins walk to the Jewish Quarter and night venues, 10mins walk to the Old Town and Wawel Castle. The hotel itself though is absolute rubbish, barely a 2 star but charges like a high 3 star. The bedding is... More

We booked the hotel for 3 nights and if it was not for our booking policy, which meant no free cancellation, we would have left immediately. (Lesson learnt and next time we will go for the free cancelation option even if it means more money). We were given a tiny room with a sloped ceiling on the top floor where... More

The location of this hotel is perfect - 5mins walk to the Jewish Quarter, 7mins walk to the Old Town & Wawel Castle, 30mins walk to the modern centre & railway/bus station or take many trams that all get there within 10mins. There is a 24hr supermarket across the road. However, this hotel is only 1 step up from a... More

This hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the main square and also has a tram line nearby. it's a great base to explore the city. While it's not in the main square, this also means that you don't get the late night noise that can be created in some other parts of the city. The hotel has young... More

With only 15 € per person my friends and I we treated like gentlemen. We ate and drank well, the quality of food was very good and great service. Atmosphere very cozy, elegant decor and classical music in the background.

We dined here but did not stay in the hotel. We thought the food very satisfactory and the atmosphere of a cultured family dining room very pleasant indeed. Staff very friendly.

I stayed a couple of days in this hotel and found it a great experience. The atmosphere in the lobby and stairs is just amazing. The rooms are nice. Breakfast is served in an amazing room. Location is not exactly in the center but it's very convenient and with a lot of restaurants nearby. I will definitely come back when... More

I stayed at the Alef for 2 weeks in June 2011. The room is full of character with interesting art, and antique furniture in the public areas and the rooms. It has a lovely little patio garden where you can have a beer, coffee or just read your book. I stayed in one of the deluxe or suite rooms -... More

Only stayed here for a couple of nights, but had a great weekend. The halls and rooms really are amazingly decorated, very interesting pictures and objects around the Hotel. The hotel Alef is in a good location, probably a 10 minute walk to the main square. The staff are always keen to help with any problems, needed a little help... More
