Not a 5 star by Western Europe/US/Asian standards, but pretty good. Kitschy, but with character. Staff were friendly and helpful, remembering this is still Eastern Europe! They did charge 19 Euros for parking overnight, but Wifi and Internet were free. Great location, our room had amazing views. If you want true 5 star service, 24 hr room service, movies, a... More

Hotel was charming with dark wood and heavy furnishings. Staff very helpful. Private parking lot a must! More

Unlike some earlier reviewers, we enjoyed our two night stay here very much. The hotel is in an ancient monastery; our room was large with a king size bed and an additional twin bed, desk, chairs etc. Typical European bathroom, good size, awkward tub. Best of all, a view of the river and the colorful buildings reflected in the calm... More

Stayed here for two nights in a quaint room with a stunning view of the town and river. Bathrooms need a little refurbishing. But the old wooden beam ceilings and old world furnishings are really charming. The property is studded with old artefacts and statues- atmospheric! More

This hotel is in an old monastery. The location and views are good and it is a large hotel in a very small city. Our room was quaint with old beams. It would have been terrific except for the labels and stickers and advertisements all over the room. As we looked closer at the hotel there were advertisements and notes... More

Although this hotel gets mixed reviews, I thought it was comfortable (although a bit dark), clean and a good location. It would fall short of a 5 star hotel but you have to appreciate the fact that Czech is trying hard to catch up with western standards. I thought the staff provided great service and my massage at the spa... More

The room was beautiful and clean. Its obviously the best hotel in town. The old wooden beams in the room made it so quaint. The bathroom was huge and the unique toilette made to look like a throne was funny. The hotel is within blocks to the river and the main castle is within view. We were able to walk... More

Stell yourself against resistance of staff. Building is gorgeous (nevertheless standing there for hundreds of years...), furnishing is atempt to look old, although too many styles and kitchy. The worse experience though is the staff. You never get what you ordered (specific room, room service, table reservation, spa), even having the order in writen and confirmed by the hotel !!!... More

You really don't make 5* hotel experience by equiping the rooms with oldish looking wooden furniture and nicely hand painted shutters, dressing up the staff into Middle Ages clothes and use the carpets that my grandma has at home all over the hotel. That is just not enough. Service on low level, CRT TV over 10 years old, just cheap... More

...........room was substandard for close on GBP150 double per night. Had to ask for a second bedside light which is a bit basic. Nothing more than hanging space for storage so my wife had to lay out her clothes on the floor. Bathtub had an oddly placed shower over it which was difficult to use. Room was gloomy with no... More
