Stayed two nights when traveling around Oz, was very good value for money, Basic, but clean, full of character rooms with balcony. Was not en suite but the period facilities were excellent. Was a very popular lively busy pub. didnt eat as we ate at the amazing Mudgee brewery but the food looked good. Would stay again.

On one of our stays recently we eat at the Oriental hotel and had for great dinners with a couple of great wines to wash it down. I highly recommend this hotel on your visit to Mudgee.

Really good pub with an excellent beer garden and 'modern Australian' food menu. Pub gets packed with locals around 8.30 and then the cheese music gets turned up 'till 12pm. Don't stay in room 6 or 7 as you will think the speakers are in the wardrobe. Ask for rooms 1-4. Shared bathroom - clean so tick!
