This is a good place to stop over travelling between Port Hedland and Broome. Clean facilities, friendly staff, gorgeous peacocks and geese roaming about. Drive through sites with good shade cover. No grass but this is the outback. Has kitchen and laundry facilities. Fuel costs not unreasonable.

This place is a fairly pleasant surprise. We stayed here after a long driving day unable to face the final 320km to Broome. I would recommend. We shared clean toilets, hot showers, cheap laundry facilities, a hot clean BBQ, countless geese, plentiful peacocks and a camel with only 2 other caravans. Sweet!

We stopped for an over night stay at Sandfire Roadhouse & Caravan Park on a powered site. Couldn't get over the number of Peacocks and Geese that were wandering around, they were fantastic to see and so tame. We also enjoyed a great meal and a cold beverage in the restaurant, which was not too overly priced. The lady behind... More

Good place to stop midway between Port Hedland and Broome. Shady drive-through powered sites. Abundant wildlife (geese, camel, bullocks, peacocks and hens) kept at rear. Reasonable price, $30 for 2 adults in powered site. Clean amenities. Mobile Internet strong Telstra signal.

Can't think of anything bad to say about Sandfire - good hot food, clean showers with plenty of hot water, large powered sites, exceptional staff and quiet sites. Were told by Pardoo exactly the opposite about Sandfire but found that information to be quite the opposite. Definitely use Sandfire as a travel break and plan your trip to avoid Pardoo.

Not many places to stop particularly in school holidays. We were lucky enough to get a room here. We were greeted by an entourage of peacocks displaying their plumes as we walked into our motel room. Small basic room, great hot water in the shower and a comfortable bed. Bar fridge and electric jug. Old style decor and spider webs... More

Not many places to stay between Broome and Port Headland, you have Sandfire Roadhouse and Pardoo roadhouse. Basic accomodation and meals but it is worth it, the staff were helpful and made the stay worthwhile. Good fun!

Camped here overnight September 2011 and loved it. Site was quiet (apart from the generator's constant hum and the many, many white cockatoos) and nicely set out. The toilet block was very clean and tidy which is more than can be said for some of the other sites we stayed at. We very much liked the peace and quiet, the... More

Sandfire Roadhouse is really just a stop over between Port Headland and Broome. So for a one nighter it's OK. We had a room in the motel block. The room was quite small with a noisy air con, little TV, double bed and a single bed, mini fridge and bench. The bed seemed to sag on the edges but otherwise... More
