From the time we (couple) arrived at "The Rocks" our charming host Noelene made us feel more than welcome - nothing seemed too much trouble and her passion for the place was clearly evident from the start and throughout our enjoyable stay. "The Rocks" has a character all of its own (with ambiance and restoration befitting an grand old lady)... More

From the moment we first made contact through to our departure, host Noelene could not have made us feel more welcome. She even served a wonderful Christmas lunch for guests and friends. The rooms were beautifully restored and clean and the welcome treat - home made Turkish Delight was irresistable. Starting the day with a home cooked gourmet breakfast was... More

We checked online for availability and arrived at their gate at 3pm, phoned the number on the gate and asked for a room. The manager said they had no vacancies and were fully booked. We parked outside, got online and their website and other sites, all showed full availability. We booked and paid online and went off for an hour... More

Hi Mr and Mrs Grimley. I'm so sorry that you did not have the experience at The Rocks that you had hoped for! I agree that I had declined phone reservations for the night you requested for exactly the reasons that you experienced on Monday...and I should have closed the internet reservation system as well. I didn't get your online... More

What a wonderful job has been done with this building. Every detail has been carefully considered. Attentive and charming hostess Noelene, is also a wonderful chef, and could not have been more helpful. Couldnt ask for more. Pity its so far from our home in the Western Cape, South Africa. More

We have stayed at The Rocks a couple of times and loved it every time. The old house is full of character and beautifully restored, the gardens are so meticulously managed and the breakfasts are to die for with all needs catered for including baking a loaf of gluten free bread especially for me. My father-in-law said "this is the... More

This magnificent stately home is a must-do for anyone planning a trip to Albany. There is a charm and elegance here that you can only experience in such a high quality, true-to-period, building, with its fine furnishings, and magnificent surrounds. The gardens are an absolute delight, and it would be easy to just find a patch of lawn, and a... More

Our stay of four nights was in a very comfortable spacious room. The tranquil setting of the hotel in beautiful gardens created a relaxed atmosphere. Each morning there was a choice of delicious innovative breakfasts made with fresh local ingredients. Noelene is a gracious and extremely attentive hostess which added to the pleasure of our stay. We recently booked The Rocks Albany for my husband's 40th birthday party. We had decided to have a murder mystery party and thought The Rocks would be the perfect place to have it and we weren't disappointed! Noelene was a wonderful host and even helped us choose a game and sort out all the extras that were needed for the... More
