We only had a couple of nights here but could have happily stayed longer. Booking was easy by contacting the owners and all information was provided on how to access. We stayed in the Pavillion which overlooks the cricket pitch on the property. Not sure if it ever gets used but the range of activities around the property is a... More

We were a group of 5 friends celebrating 60th birthdays at st helens for 6 nights at Easter 2012. This beautiful place had everything you could wish for, and much more! We had a wonderful experience, and thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional hospitality of Carol and Russell, who made us feel so welcome, and catered to our every need. We would... More

New owners Carol and Russel were wonderful hosts. We stayed in the Pavillion Cottage - one of three cottages, and it was very well presented, clean and spacious. There is a verandah looking over peaceful large grounds, with a vineyard across the way and the Reisling trail (for walking and riding) just 100m away. Our dogs were welcomed, and they... More

We loved our stay at St Helens which is close to all wineries and restaurants in the Clare Valley. Picturesque units set amoung the native shrubs and gum trees. The bird life was exceptional. Being self contained so we moved around at our own pace. Our morning breakfast was lavish and more if we wished. A bottle of lovely wine... More

Just wanted to say a big thank you on behalf of my wife and myself for your hospitality during our stay in Clare. We had a wonderful time and really appreciated all of the 'little touches' that made staying at the cottage so good. We were sorry not to have been able to catch you on Saturday morning when we... I took my boyfirend to Clare as a surprise holiday- boy did we get a surprise! When we first checked in, the owner was very unfriendly, seemed unhappy we were there, blocking the doorway with her body as though we had come to a private residence and were strangers invading her territory! The original booking was online and traumatic. After... More

In February 2011 St Helen's was bought by new owners Russ and Carol Topperwien and they have made some fabulous improvements to the property. Cleanliness is a priority and problems like this won't recurr. More

We found St Helen's B and B by asking a few locals where to stay - we hadn't pre-booked. St Helen's has 3 self catering cottages but we were unable to see them as they were all occupied. We stayed in the guest suite in the main house - this consisted of a very large bedroom, bathroom with spa, use... More
