I found this motel whilst looking for reasonably priced alternatives instead of expensive accomodation around the corner. We were both pleasantly surprised with the River Esplanade! This was our first visit to Moolooaba and the Sunshine Coast. This motel was extremely well located. We had the Studio Unit, and although small, was all we needed for a 5 night stay. Would of loved access to a laundry room and this would be my only gripe. The manager was always out in the morning cleaning the pool... More

No Shampoo supplied. How can a motel not supply Shampoo. Plain comfortable room. Not a picture on the wall. Pool filthy. Even a dead dagonfly floating.

Thanks for your comments, True we dont supply shampoo or conditioner but they can be easily purchased from reception. Our philosophy is to provide quality accommodation at an affordable rate so by adding extras such as shampoo, toothbrushes, etc this increases prices and we have found that most customers prefer to bring their own toiletries and enjoy the cheaper prices... More

“Only if you are desperate.”

This motel was the only accommodation available in Mooloolaba the night we stayed. And I would only ever stay there again if I was desperate. It is extremely basic accommodation with no frills. No pay TV, no telephone, old linen and towels. One night was more than enough.

In 2010 The River Esplanade Motel Mooloolaba has had a $250 000 renovation. We now have 32inch LCD TVs in all rooms & 20 channel cable tv in 12 rooms. We have new bedspreads, curtains, bedlinen, towels & curtains in all rooms along with new tables, chairs, wardrobes and desks in every room. Renovations of rooms go in cycles and... More
