I stayed a night in a 4-bed mixed dorm. The bed was cheap by Australian standards ($28) and the quality reflected the price. I had a top bunk and the handrail and foot of the bed almost came off when I climbed up (I'm only 75kg). When I lay down my feet poked through the metal rails at the end... More

We stayed here for a night and arrived pretty late. If we would have had a choice of finding another place at that hour we would have, because the room and hostel in general was dirty!!! The NZ guy who welcomed us was really nice and helpful so we had a positive attitude upon arrival. It was so late that... More

When arriving we were told we had a double room with TV and ensuite, we actually had a 4 bed dorm but were assured nobody else would check in to that room. The girl even made up an excuse that all her private rooms had been booked out for weeks, which is no excuse as we had booked one. The... More

I had a really great itme here, but it was mostly because of the wonderful people I met and stayed with here for several weeks. The hostel itself is kinda run down and dirty, with an ill equipped kitchen, and bathrooms that get filthy because there is no separation of the shower to the rest of the floor. We told... More

My friend and I stayed at Mooloolaba Beach Backpackers for only 1 night. We stayed in an ensuite bedroom. It was pretty clean, we're happy about that. We met only one staff and she was friendly enough. We love the location as it's quite near to the wharf and underwater world. We left early so we didn't have the breakfast.... More

We stayed here one night, bed was so much better than YHA beds. But still not a hotel bed quality. No aircon , but a good fan worked perfectly. Had good service, free toast and coffee for breakfast. Overall great value. Had some specials like cable wake boarding only $25 for 2 hours. Bargain. Included all hire of gear etc.... More

I live here for 3 months while working near by. The place was really awesome to stay at. The staff always went out of there way to help you, whether it be looking for work, booking tours or finding buses etc. Security is very good and any issues are dealt with very quickly. It is a very safe place to... More

We stayed here since everything else was booked up. It's terrible... The beds screech, the walls are dirty, no blinds in our room, the fan that's installed in our room couldn't be plugged in because that cord was too short. The sheets were dirty and there were bugs in our room. On the plus side, free rental of surf boards... More

As this was the first time i'd bought my boyfriend to Oz, I wanted him to see the amazing beach where I have so many fantastic childhood holiday memories. Unfortuantely we arrived right smack bang in the middle of school holidays when you can't get a room for less than 3 nights under $150. We booked a double room with... More

At $28 for a dorm you expect more. We were in a 4bed dorm which was clean but the bunkbeds made more noise than you can imagine, no one could sleep if you just turned over. Doors were slamming all through the night because they do not have anything to slow them down. Alot of people seem to be working... More
