Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The mechanic at the Ellenbrae station also helps with flat tires. Since our two spare tires were already "dead", we decided to take a break from our tour across the Gibb here. We had made contact the day before and were already expected. In less than an hour two tires were repaired and one wheel was fitted with a new tire. Thanks Mark! The station itself is an oasis. A well-kept garden welcomes you. It is a nice place to take a break. Eating and drinking is easy to manage. More is not necessary in the outback. We had the best scones (outside of England) and enjoyed a classic cream tea. We really didn't expect that in this place.

We didnt stay here but stopped after the worst section of road that we did on the Gibb,Of course we had heard that they did the best scones so had to stop.My husband said the scones were doughy but that could just be to make me feel better about mine.It is a green oasis in the middle of no where.Toilets and a beautiful cafe where you can get meals and coffees.I wish we had checked out the camping areas but we had the van on the back and the camp spots are away from the restaurant. No internet but if you make a donation to the Royal Flying Doctors they will give you the wifi password. The road in there was fine(compared to what we had just done) and it gave us a chance to put everything back in its place inside the van as everything ended up on the floor.Next time I would stop for the night and check out the camp areas and relax in the beautiful green gardens

While travelling the Gibb, decided to stop at Ellenbrae for a break. Of course tried the famous scones, which were very tasty. The place is nicely maintained and the staff very friendly. Therefore, we spontaneously decided to spend a night at the bush camp. No power, but the rest was nice and in very good shape. We loved the place

A lovely station on the Gibb River Road. They are rightly famous for their scones but I would recommend staying there. Very friendly staff and restaurant reception area. There is a nice river with swimming holes alongside the camp. We stayed in a cabin whilst our friends camped nearby. The station provided dinner bbq packs for us to cook in the kitchen area and set up a fire for us. Wish we had stayed more than one night but we were on a schedule.

Ellenbrae was like an oasis on The Gibb. Yes the scones and food are amazing..but we decided to stay overnight in one of their huts which were really comfortable and was given a self cook bbq meal which was perfect... The hosts Mark and Fiona were so helpful not only for a great chat, but with some local knowledge, advice and tyre help which is gold! Highly recommend a stop at Ellenbrae..even if just for a snack given only 4km off the Gibb ..big thx guys.

This place is just lovely, from the friendly staff and pretty Ringers campground with alfresco showers and on-site swimming hole, through to the famous scones. We splurged on a 7am Bush Bath which was just divine after 2 weeks on the Gibb! No on-site gorges but they know how to make up for it!

Wonderful station stay. The homestead is so refined and special. We sat in the garden relaxing after we arrived and had tea, scones with jam and cream and a quiche and salad! Campsite we stayed in was Jackeroo. Very nice and quiet. Great hot water system with wood fires to heat the showers. Loved all the quirky bits like horseshoes for hangers! Absolutely wonderful barbecue and breakfast packs available to buy. We had the best meals yet on our camping holiday in Ellenbrae.

I highly recommend a stop here while driving the Gibb River Road! Fabulous, friendly hospitality. We stayed in one of their rooms and got the meal package which was a DYI bbq dinner with other travellers. We also booked the open baths for sunset - this is a must! The local waterhole is also lovely. We arrived with a flat and they fixed it asap. The place is known for its scones but there is so much more!

Do yourself a favour and don’t pass up this gem. The staff could not be more helpful, the waterholes are secluded and the scones are fantastic! We were so happy that we decided to stop here, what a great place to stay on The Gibb

Great camp and scones. Very accommodating hosts. Had a State of Origin night with the bug screen outside for guests. Scones were $6 which was cheap considering the location. Showers and toilets at the camp were great. BBQ and seating in an undercover area with lots of character.
