We stayed a night in the campsite by the water hole a few km from the station. It was all basic, but we weren't made to expect anything more so it was absolutely fine. Our abiding memory of Drysdale River Station is of how exceptionally friendly and helpful the staff were. We somehow got a hole in our car radiator... More

We were on a wonderful 15 day tour from Broome to Darwin and stayed at some wonderful campsites, these made the low standard at Drysdale even more obvious. The site was well run from food and general day-to-day standard, but the investment in the infrastructure has been sadly lacking. The ambiance of the site is poor, though there is one... More

I was disappointed to read your review. I don’t understand why you thought the campground ablution block low standard. It is one of the best along the Gibb River or Kalumburu Roads, we honestly get great comments about it constantly. It is cleaned every day. The bathrooms are fully self contained. Shower, toilet, hand basin, mirror, power point and a... More

Drysdale River station accommodation has always been pricey, but when you are that remote and there are no other options it's to be expected. The super hot showers (when the generator is running, but still hot when it's not) were a surprise. Rooms are very basic dongas with shared ensuite. Safari tents are the same price with shared ammenities but... More

The information you give is not quite correct. I was only just told about it or could have responded sooner. We have for the last 12 or more years had EFTPOS which takes ALL cards including debit cards. Debit cards are taken daily at the shop. What did stun me was the comment about the noisy air conditioners. The safari... More

2009 review has changed. The Drysdale River Station is now operated by APT (tour comp.) This has only just happened and therefore we were a little disappointed not to be involved in a family run station atmosphere.....No communal kitchen anymore - so you can only eat at the coffee shop/bar/restaurant area which is alright but a little expensive with only... I was disappointed to read your review. I was only just told about it or could have responded sooner. Please let me update you. There is no longer any tour company based here, there are no safari tents either. We are again just a family run station, offering tourism. We have just totally done up the older rooms and are... Drysdale River station is a road house type of accommodation with basic rooms and limited, basic meals. There is a large covered area with tables and chairs next to a pretty basic communal kitchen which is ideal for enjoying your own meals in the bush setting. However the generator goes off overnight so you can't rely on the fridge that's... More
