La Tortuga was what I have expected by its general description, other guests reviews and pictures: It is an unpretentious Hotel with all the advertised services . The accomodation was comfortable and private, with possibilities of sitting outside viewing the swimming pool and the big "bohio" where the dinning, bar and kitchen are located. From the moment of our arrival,... More

My friends and I stayed here for a week- our first time in Las Terrenas. The hotel was quiet and clean. We spoke only a few words of Spanish or French so we needed some help figuring out some things- Maurizio was very helpful (thank you). It was also nice that the hotel was small and we were greeted by... More

We stayed at La Tortuga for one night after spending a week at a villa for a wedding. The room we stayed in was clean and quiet. The bathroom water was hot and strong, which tends to be a problem at some less expensive properties. Set away from the main street, it wasn't busy or loud, which was nice, and... More

Hotel La Tortuga is a great place to stay in Las Terrenas. Although it is only a short walk to the beaches and (many!) restaurants and shops in town, it is very quiet as it is set back from the main street and surrounded by a lush tropical garden. The owner Maurizio was extremely helpful and went out of his... More

This was our second time staying at La Tortuga, two weeks of great food and even better service. Maurizio, the owner, is fantastic and we were happy to see that the three young women, Josefina, Iris and Elsa, who do most everything at the hotel, are still there. Also it seems that Chloe the cat is still relaxing in her... More

Great value for money place, really nice, comfortable and clean. Parking space as well, a nice pool and a decent breakfast service. A 10 minute walk from a great beach, and also close to restaurants and small shops.

If you want a stay in a peaceful place within a lovely garden then stay here. This hotel is situated a little in the edge of the town and a small unpaved road leads to it, and that means that you are free of traffic noise. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk to the center of town. The... More

The rooms were super clean and spacious, and the rustic decoration give the little bungalows a nice touch. Location is great (just about 5 min walking from the Pueblo de los Pescadores and the Ballenas beach). But the best of all was the exquisite service, both from the staff and the owners, and the amazing quality of the food in... More

Hotel La Tortuga is centrally located. We walked to town and to the beach daily. The staff do not speak English (Spanish and French only), but they were very patient with our broken Spanish. Daily breakfast is available at no charge. You can order eggs any style. They also provide fruit, ham, cheese, coffee, tea, and homemade bread. The only... More

In a beautifully tended garden with a nice small pool the (about ten?) little red bungalows are scattered - nicely and comfortably furnished and with space for up to five persons. I was given a friendly welcome and introduction by Mauricio, the owner, who is also very willingly sharing his knowledge of the area. La Tortuga is just a five... More
