El Hotelito Perdido is a wonderful place. The rooms are charming, the staff very accommodating and the location is perfect. Its off the regular tourist trail, but that is a big part of the charm. Relaxing, accommodating, good food, fun.

I spend quite some time in the hotel, and it is absolutely one of my favorite spots to be. The location of the hotel is like paradise. The hotel is located on a small quiet river, and the only way to move is by boat or kayak. It absolutely adds to the charm, a lot of indigenous people live on... More

When planning our trip to the Rio Dulce/Livingston area, we really struggled with whether we should stay on the water in Livingston, or try a jungle experience here at the hotelito. After our first night here, we knew we had made the right choice! From the minute you arrive, you will be warmly greet by the team here - Aska,... More

This small hotel is perfect for exploring the great nature surroundings but at the same time just for doing nothing. Very quiet, even if all the bungalows are booked, and many cozy hammocks and sofas. The food is absolutely great and freshly made and the staff is friendly. The prices are reasonable regarding the fact that everything has to be... More

I spent three nights here and it was exactly what I wanted. The staff was very relaxed, the hotel was very comfortable, and the setting was absolutely breathtaking. It's a little off the "main drag" of the Rio Dulce (though even the Rio Dulce is pretty chill), with plenty to explore. It's the ideal place if you're looking for a... More

As a kid I love the Tarzan movies. Being a city boy an able to feel the luxury of living in the jungle through the movies was a great push to look for a place with quality of life... And El Hotelito perdido is lost enough to give you this experience, sailing through the Rio Dulce always make me feel... More

The Hotel Perdido simply is a very special place that I will not forget. Not only is it situated right by the river with access to swim, kayak, tube or lie on a hammock. Its cabins and bungalows are very beautiful, very clean, all with mosquito nets, clean sheets and towels. And believe me, I don't write that easily:-) The... More

We, my friend and I, stayed in Hotelito Perdido for two nights and we both loved it. This calm and peaceful place in the middle of the jungle was exactly what we had been looking for after having been travelling for a while. At Hotelito Perdido, apart from its beautiful location - slightly off the main river Rio Dulce -... More

I would return to this little oasis of calm and tranquility in a heart beat! The location was stunning nestled into the jungle on a beautifully clean tributary of the Rio Dulce. You can swim right off the dock, take a canoe to explore the beautiful surrounding tributaries and communities or just swing on a hammock watching the world pass... More

As Trip Advisor reporters do we have to make allowances for a hotel's location when assessing the quality of the facilities offered? Dirt is dirt. Bad food tastes bad whether it's in a five star hotel in London of in the middle of the Guatemalan jungle. The Hotelito Perdido promotes itself as an ecologically responsible establishment. But this is the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotelito Perdido is a boutique jungle eco lodge situated in the heart of the Rio Dulce National Park, tucked away on one of the small freshwater tributaries that feed the Rio Dulce. Although it feels like a million miles from anywhere, being just off the popular tourist route between Livingston and the town of Rio Dulce means that the hotel is easily accessible by boat. Both Lonely Planet and Rough Guide currently list the hotel as one of their ‘recommended destinations’ in the region. It is a great place for guests to be as well as great launching point for further excursions. The hot springs, the manatee reserve and some beautiful waterfalls are within kayaking distance of the hotel. We rent kayaks and wooden cayucos, there is dock to swim from, beautiful tropical gardens with fruit trees, plenty of hammocks to relax in, games to play and good books to read. There is communal house with bar, lounge, restaurant area and kitchen. Near the communal house is a b-b-q area and there is a hammock house by the dock. We offer drinks, homemade food, we make our own bread and we eat our evening meal together, family style. The hotel can currently accommodate 15 guests ... more   less
