We stayed here last Saturday night. I agree with earlier reviews. The room was clean and presentable. The reception staff pleasant and helpful. The bar just opposite was very noisy and open till late, made worse since we couldn't close the top windows to shut out the noise. The Carpe Diam restaurant served tasty, but basic food, which was overpriced. Breakfast was... More

We stayed in March 2012 for three nights. The motel is in a nice setting and forms part of a modern complex which includes a couple of decent restaurants and a few shops that overlook the small marina. There are a few other local shops just across the road including the best takeaway fish & chip shop I've ever come... More

My wife and I stayed for 6 nights in march from the time we checked in the staff were unpleasant as I counted approx 8 persons whom were suppossed staff members although you wouldn't know about it unless they were behind the counter as only two had name tags on and know one had uniforms that represented where they worked... We stayed two nights at Gulf Harbour Lodge and we would definitely stay there again. I asked for a quiet king size room and we were upgraded to a suite. These rooms are large, beautifully appointed and very comfortable with a lovely view of the harbour. We were lucky enough to be there when the Sunday markets were on in... More

We booked in to relax after a week sailing the Bay of Islands and catch up with friends in the area. Gulf Harbour Lodge was the perfect choice! The room was roomy & comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful and obliging. I would recommend you consider paying the extra $20 for the room with King bed if you are a... More

This hotel has a good view of part of Gulf Harbour. This is a newly developed area but it is not easy to get to the sea as it is surrounded by appartments. The hosts were exceptionally helpful and the restaurants next door were good as were the rooms. More

We stayed at the Lodge last night. Being only a couple of minutes from Gulf Harbour Country Club, where we had booked a round of golf and literally 20 metres from the very good Carpe Diem restaurant, where we had also booked, the location was perfect. We were greeted by a friendly Manager / Receptionist and check in was pretty... More

We checked in then were told to pay upfront. After she put the transaction through, told us there was an issue with the water pressure and to turn off the shower for a few minutes and try again. Had a wedding in the afternoon and when I went to have a shower there was no pressure at all. The shower... More

We were in the area and wanted to stay in a hotel with Sky(satallite) tv so we could watch a live rugby game that night.. Their website stated they had Sky tv so we booked in. It turned out they had just had their Sky uninstalled "due to the recession". When we raised the issue, the duty manager was understanding... More
